 01/11/09 Happy 1st Birthday!
Your Birthday Party | So, if I have learned anything about parenting over this past year, it is that you are actually the one in charge around here and not me. | From the moment I got pregnant with you, I had been planning your 1st birthday party. I had it all figured out. The guests, your outfit, the decorations, the food, etc. I knew what your birthday cake would look like and I pictured you diving into it and having it all over your face, your hands, and your body and enjoyed every ounce of frosting. I couldn't wait to get those pictures captured on camera. However, that is not exactly how it went. You didn't want to even touch your cake but with a little encouragement you finally poked at it. But then you got some frosting on your hand and you were NOT happy about it. Instant tears and all you wanted to do was get away from the cake and get cleaned up. Needless to say, I didn't quite get those pictures that I had been dreaming about. All in all, it was definitely a party that I will always remember!
Needless to say, after your big party you were exhausted. I didn't even have a chance to change you into your PJs before you were fast asleep!
 We Love You Birthday Girl!
We had a party for you and your little friends at the Pizza Factory. Guests included Cher and Hudson Houston, KayDee and Saidee Smith, Kami and Jaxon Olmstead, Tricia and Brecken Michler, Brittany and Chloe Stucki, Serena and Lucas Martineau, and Kristi and Scarlett Shaw. It was really loud, very chaotic, and extremely fun. You had a blast!

When you figured out how to pull yourself up to a standing position, we started spending lots of time in your room. You had lots of objects to entertain you. You learned to pull yourself up and give your piggy a kiss. You learned to balance on your rocking horse. And your favorite thing to do ... open the drawers and empty out all your clothes onto the floor!!!
"The Three B's" I am not kidding when I say that there was a period of about 6 months when we literally could not go anywhere without these three items ... 1) Binky 2) Bear 3) Blanket As long as you had the "Three B's" everything was ok!
 March 3rd, 2009 First Steps!
I love the fact that you leaned up against the door to gather your courage and then just took off! You did so great, when you fell, you got right back up again. We couldn't believe what a big girl you were!
Fun Nights with MiMi One great advantage of having Grandparents right down the street? Spending lots of fun times at their house. MiMi always made sure you had a blast and let you run the show. Playing in the sink, stroller rides, and chasing you around the house ... what could be better?
 March 18th, 2009
One afternoon, I dropped you off to Nanny for a couple hours while I ran some errands. When I got there to pick you up, you were happily playing in the hot tub and hanging out with Nanny and Debbie. You seemed so content and happy to be in the water. Once it got a bit warmer, we spent lots and lots of time relaxing in there and soaking up the sunshine!
 Easter Sunday
You had so much with Easter this year. I got your all dressed up for church and then we went to Papa and Nanny's house that night for dinner. I had an Easter Egg Hunt all planned out for you in the courtyard but I didn't know if you would grasp thee idea or not. Turns out you loved the idea of finding the eggs and putting them in the basket!

 18 Months Old
Camping in Pine Valley | I gave you a "smore" for the first time. You weren't too interested in it after the first bite because it was too messy and you didn't like having it all over your face, Always my dainty little girl!
Reading a book with your sunglasses on ... You crack me up!
 June 2009
We took a girls trip up to Salt Lake and we were able to visit Great Grandma Olson and Uncle Kory. You loved all the attention and we had so much fun hanging out with everyone. It was amazing to see you sitting on those front porch steps. I spent so much of my childhood at that house playing on those steps and watching you sit there was a trip down memory lane for me.
We spent the entire day at the pool with Papa and Nana. You were swimming all over the place and enjoying the sun. Papa even gave you a few dolphin rides! | Happy 4th of July
After we were done swimming we played in the front yard and then when it got dark, we showed you some fireworks. You loved the sparklers!
1st Day in Nursery | Today was a BIG DAY for you! You hit the magical 18 month mark so that meant we could take you to Nursery for the first time! You did better than we expected. It took you a little while to feel comfortable but once you saw all the toys and all the friends, you settled right in after a couple weeks. I think I had a harder time with this transition that you did! So proud of our grown up girl! | July 12, 2009
Family Night at the Roadrunners Baseball Game
Lunch With Papa You loved to visit Papa at work. I don't know if it's because you always got a balloon or because he shared his lunch with you!
I loved coming in to check on you after you fell asleep everyday for your naps. On this particular afternoon, you looked so sweet and peaceful that I had to sneak a couple of pictures ...
We started the holiday off by attending the annual Pioneer Day Parade. Papa was really worried about how loud the fire trucks were so he covered your ears! | HAPPY 24TH of | july
Mimi had a birthday celebration and we all enjoyed a BBQ in her honor. Then we relaxed by the pool and watched you entertain all of us. And the best part of the night was the firework show. You sat in a little chair with Kaden and watched the excitement. By the time we got home, you were exhausted and had fallen asleep in my lap on our drive home! | Happy Birthday Mimi!
Me and You Since the day you were born, you have been my sidekick. We run errands, go grocery shopping, go on walks, play at the park, swim, go to lunch, do pedicures/manicures, and watch movies, You are the best little buddy I could ask for!

It seems like Nana is always the one behind the camera catching your moments. Whether you are busy putting coins in the piggy bank, playing with toys in the tub, watching a movie, or eating yogurt naked in the courtyard, Nana captures it. Papa is nice enough to let you play his drums. He spends lots of time with you reading stories and cuddling during a movie. He got a table setup for you in the courtyard and showed you that you could play on it with your cups of water. You are truly loved!
