4: We went to Indiana to get in on the fun of gathering maple syrup in Grandpa's woods. Gilbert had his sixth birthday while we were there and was privileged to celebrate it with Grandpa and Grandma, the uncles, Kaitlyn, and Marvs. Mom and Dad kept the children for us one night while Rodney and I had a wonderful date at Serenity Springs. | MARCH

13: Verna made Gilbert a bunny birthday cake and the Martin family came over to help celebrate his birthday. Lamar brought his gift and told Gilbert to close his eyes ....
15: What a great gift for a boy! He was delighted with the tool set and couldn't wait to use it!
16: A day on the farm...
19: A visit to LaVerne's Repair always takes me down memory lane....I came here as a little girl to watch my daddy work, then as a teenager to be his secretary. Now, I bring my children to see what Grandpa and James are fixing.

22: Dad got his old Farmall fixed up and working and Gilbert couldn't wait to get to drive it. Tractors and Grandpa...two of his favorite things!

24: James recently started a courtship with Sarah Edwards who is serving a two year term in Ghana, West Africa. I took some pictures of him to send over to her. We are very excited about their courtship!

27: Mom made me a quilt out of all my old dress scraps and we had fun quilting together.

31: We had the Adam Martin family and John and Sara over to celebrate Addison's birthday. He was so thrilled with his presents and tractor cake.

34: Rodney took us on a surprise field trip to the BEN FRANKLIN INSTITUTE in Philadelphia. We had a fun day... making paper, learning about the weather, and much more!

42: We took a trip to Indiana where I stayed with the children while Rodney went to Minnesota fishing with Dad and James. When they got back, we headed on out to Colorado to visit the Nolts. | May 29- June 17
44: JULY | We went to Cape Henelopen with George and Rose for a few days and enjoyed the beautiful ocean.

55: Crayfish for lunch... coming right up! | Edible Bugs We went to the Lancaster County Park for an educational adventure of catching and cooking bugs to eat! We ate crickets, katydids, locusts and more!
57: We heard a loud noise early one morning as we were drinking our coffee and looked out in time to see a balloon getting ready to land in the parking lot beside our house.
58: HURRICANE LEE | September
59: Rodney had already left for work, but the water was rising fast, so I called him and asked if he could come home. He barely made it through the water on the road with his car. The water rose to within about four feet of the house.

62: In October, we went on a double date with George and Rose to NYC. We made our hotel reservation on Priceline and got this W Hotel for a deal. | W Hotel
63: We stayed about halfway up with a room overlooking the cityscape. The foyer was lit up with different colored lights in the evening. It was way classier than anything we've ever stayed at before.
65: We took the ferry out around the Statue of Liberty at night. It was very windy out on the deck and we were about the only people on the boat. We walked through the city streets until late, enjoying the city lights and even walking past Occupy Wall Street.
67: Because of Occupy Wall Street, there were policemen everywhere. We didn't see any demonstrations and the people camped out there seemed pretty docile.
69: The weather was perfect and the city interesting as always. We walked past Trump Hotel, saw the rickshaws and horses giving tourists rides, and enjoyed the beautiful sculptures and magnificent buildings.
70: We went into Trump Tower and had ice cream at the Trump Ice Cream Parlor.
71: Surprise Snow Storm.. in October
72: Strasburg Railroad It was the last day that we could use our free tickets for the train, so we went even though it was snowing like crazy. We had almost the whole train to ourselves and a most beautiful ride through the snowy countryside.
74: From snowy PA to Puerto Rico! Rodney and I took a dream-come-true trip to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We spent ten days on the island while the children stayed in Indiana with Grandpa and Grandma Hoover. | Craig & Kari Myers Family

77: Rachel Kaufman and I were in charge of the coffee bar for Youth Bible School. We served coffee, tea and refreshments every morning from 8:15-9:00 with a fresh assortment each day. | DECEMBER
