FC: The Magical Christmas Bus December 24, 2010 | by Grandma Sally
'Twas the night before Christmas on Ledge Street.
The children were ready for bed.
The dishes were done, and the grownups were tired. We all had been amply fed.
Tatum was snug in his 'jammies, Settling down for the night.
Sadie wore Nana's new beautiful gown, She looked like an angel in flight.
The Christmas lights twinkled and sparkled, The presents were under the tree.
The stockings were hung by the fireplace. What better could anything be?
We sat by the glow of the candles. The evening was chilly and clear.
The windows and shutters were open real wide. When what do you think we should hear?
We sprang to the door and ran out to the street, The neighbors and children were there. We heard Christmas music and clapping of hands, A feeling of joy in the air.
And all of a sudden we saw it! The magical bus had arrived, Surrounded by dancers and elves of all kinds, With glorious singers inside.
The magical bus was aglow with bright lights. The music was joyous and loud. It was followed by marchers and bicycle kids. You never did see such a crowd.
Then Santa was waving and smiling at us, The children all clapped and they cheered. He had a red coat and a pack full of toys, Not to mention his snowy white beard.
The magical bus drove away down the street, As the lights and the music grew dim.
We all waved goodbye and went back in the house, Each with a very wide grin.
We'll always remember this Christmas, When the caroling bus came to town.
The magical Christmas on Ledge Street, With wonder and love all around.
