BC: The Moore Family Yearbook, 2010
FC: All things grow better with love.
A family is pieced together with hope and faith. A family is quilted and bound with love and grace.
Universal Spirit's Spirit of Hope National Championship Charlotte Convention Center January, 2010 | This was the first time April or Stephen had ever participated in a competition this large. Nearly 400 teams from all over the east coast came to Charlotte. The Johnson C. Smith marching band played at each awards ceremony and the competition was held in the memory of Charlotte's Hope Stout who's family accepted a check from US for their foundation to help families of terminally ill children pay the bills.
The Spirit of Hope Nationals was a great success for the Aviator teams. Many of them had never faced such a massive crowd or so many teams in their division. Over the course of the two day Nationals the Choppers (Stephen and April's Lrg Jr. Lv 2) finished an amazing 3rd of 12 teams. April's Jets (Sm. Youth Lv. 3) gained some excellent experience and finished 6th.
It's The Little Things In Life That Matter
WSF Queen City Classic Charlotte, NC February, 2010 | UCF National Championship Columbia, SC March, 2010
After a 3 hour delay for snow, the WSF Queen City Classic turned out to be a great day for Aviator. With the exception of one team, Aviator swept the competition. Both the Choppers and Jets pulled in their first victory and brought banners home to the gym. At UCF, April debuted her back tuck on the Jets and the Choppers were absolutely amazing. In a very controversial decision, the Choppers finished second at Nationals, as did the Jets, but we'll be back in 2011 for the coolest First place trophies in the cheer industry!
Spacecamp Huntsville, Alabama; March, 2010 Stephen participated with a select group (and one of only 2 6th graders) to attend Spacecamp. Upon arrival, his crew named him Flight Commander and Stephen learned the science and simulation behind commanding a NASA shuttle mission.
Home Is Where The Cat Is
Spirit Sports Battle at the Beach Myrtle Beach, SC March, 2010
The Aviator Allstars ended the 09-10 season at Myrtle Beach, SC in the most prestigious of their competitive schedule. Battle at the Beach drew nearly 400 teams from the east coast including those who would finish as world champions only a month later in the USASF's World Championships. The Choppers AMAZED the crowd with a 3rd place finish among 12 incredibly tough teams. The Jets (literally) brought the entire program to tears with a day 2, come from behind victory to finish as National Champions over 11 other teams! One of the coaches later said it was the best technical performance of any Aviator team for the entirety of the 2009-2010 competitive season.
Cut the Cake! | April celebrated her 10th birthday at home with some friends and a big bouncy house in the driveway! Justice gift cards were plentiful!
The 2009-2010 season marked the inaugural year for the Aviator Allstars. They celebrated an amazingly successful season among the Aviator family in early May with the program's awards banquet. Both Stephen and April (and dad!) were recognized for their hard work and successes during the year!
Stephen celebrated his 12th birthday by gathering a few friends and showering the house with airsoft pellets as the invasion descended on Cramer Mountain!
Cadet Airman First Class Stephen Alexander Moore | Although he visited for 6 months, Stephen was able to officially join the United States Civil Air Patrol on his 12th birthday. He did so immediately, attended NC Wing encampment and ranked up to Cadet Airman First Class. At the time this was published, he passed his latest battery of tests and is on target to rank up to Cadet Senior Airman by the beginning of 2011.
NC Wing Civil Air Patrol Summer Encampment, Fort Butner, N.C. June, 2010
Stephen's 12th birthday arrived with only 3 days to get CAP encampment paperwork submitted. The newly commissioned Cadet Airman Moore learned flight line marshaling and his Echo squadron earned special honors at pass and review.
 A Dog's Life
Stephen started pilot lessons at the beginning of 2010.
He logged approximately 4 hours of flight time and looks to increase that in 2011.
 Boston Massachusetts
Keith and Ashley Bagwell, July 25, 2010 | In July, we enjoyed another Aviator celebration. The program owners/head coaches married each other at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and had a special reception just for their Aviator family the following afternoon.
April and Mom! | April is on TOP at NHES! | April was elected class treasurer for the student council and ran in the school-wide election. She continues to excel in both academics and art!
April Elizabeth Moore 5th grade; New Hope ES Ms. Wilcox | April gets contact lenses!
A family is pieced together with hope and faith.
Stephen Alexander Moore 7th Grade, Cramerton MS Tarantula Team | Stephen is having a fantastic year. He continues to excel in both Academics and concert band (trumpet). He qualified for the Duke Talent Identification Program and took the SAT on December 4, 2010.
 Stephen gets braces!
We enjoyed some great, if infrequent, rounds of golf in 2010. We played Verdict Ridge in the 1st Annual MHMS Golf Tournament, a round at Cramer Mountain with Dad and Judy's godfather Andy and a round just for the two of us in the NC mountains courtesy of Mom and Dad's birthday gift to Mike!
Cummings Cove Golf Club in Hendersonville, NC. Although it rained like crazy (and Pop Pop said it never rains on a golf course!) we had a great time spending the evening at at the Echo Mountain Inn and playing 18 together.
CHEERSPORT Grand Championship Cabarrus Arena, Concord, NC November 7, 2010
Aviator kicked off the 2010-2011 season at CHEERSPORT. The Choppers (Stephen-Lrg Jr. 2) brought in the gym's first championship trophy and the Jets (April-Sm Youth 3) finished second by only 1.5 points and scored the second highest team total in the program by only 0.5 points. It's going to be a GREAT season!
 The Moores
We said farewell to two very special ladies in 2010. Judy's nana, Kathleen, joined her Pop Pop after many years apart, and her good friend Pam Marsh lost a hard fought battle against melanoma. We miss them everyday.
