A Bunny's Tale Written by: Jacob Vaughan Designed by: Cullan Payne To Mrs. Norris and children everywhere
In a time not so long ago, in a Misty meadow right next door, there was a rabbit who went as Cody Rabbit.
Cody Rabbit didn't have very many friends. His only friend was a leaf that was attached to a tree.
This leaf was different than the others. It had blue dots, and this interested Cody Rabbit.
But one VERY windy day, Cody Rabbit was talking to the leaf when all of a sudden...pluck! The leaf fell off the tree and started to blow with the wind.
Cody Rabbit was really sad when he saw the leaf blow away because it was his only friend. So Cody Rabbit hopped after the leaf so he could be reunited with it once more.
Just as Cody Rabbit was about to catch the leaf, he came to a BIG tree that had fallen in the wind. He watched as the leaf fell on top of the tree.
He couldn't go around...through...or under it. He had to go over it. It was too high to hop over, but then Bart the Beaver came and offered to help.
"Jump on my back. I'll help you over it." So Cody Rabbit used his back for assistance to jump over the tree. Right as he was about to grab the leaf, it got windy again. This time, Bart the Beaver went with Cody Rabbit.
Cody Rabbit and Bart the Beaver chased and chased the leaf until they came to a bridge. They went halfway across the bridge when they noticed a BIG hole in it. The leaf was about to fall through the hole and into the river.
They couldn't go around...through...or under it. They had to go over it again. Cody Rabbit and Bart the Beaver couldn't jump that far. Splash! Splash! It was Oscar the Otter.
Cody rabbit and Bart the Beaver told Oscar the Otter about the leaf, so he offered to help. "Use my back as a platform." So Cody Rabbit jumped on Oscar the Otter's back and just before he could catch the leaf, it got windy again. Cody Rabbit and Bart the Beaver jumped to the other side, and this time, Oscar the Otter went with them.
Cody Rabbit and Bart the Beaver and Oscar the Otter bounded after the leaf until they came to a BIG forest. They couldn't go around...under...or over it. They had to go through it. But it started to get dark, so Cody Rabbit was starting to get a little discouraged.
That's when Cody Rabbit saw a bunch of little stars that were coming closer and closer and closer. Buzz! Buzz! That's when Cody Rabbit realized it was the Firefly Flock. Cody Rabbit and Bart the Beaver and Oscar the Otter explained their problem to the Firefly Flock. That's when the Firefly Flock offered to help. Follow us. We have light and we know this forest like a walk in the park.
So Cody Rabbit and Bart the Beaver and Oscar the Otter followed the Firefly Flock until they reached the end of the forest.
As the sun rose, Cody Rabbit and his friends spotted the leaf. This time Cody Rabbit sprinted for it, and just before the wind kicked in, he caught the leaf.
But when Cody Rabbit opened his hands, the blue dots had disappeared and the leaf had crumbled into pieces and blew away with the wind. This made Cody rabbit tear up.
His friends tried to cheer him up, but what made him feel better was the sight of a leaf with gold dots on it. Cody Rabbit started after it, but stopped for a minute to think.
"I've made so many friends on the way," He thought. "What leaf could be better than these friends?" So Cody Rabbit had made his decision. He went back to be with Bart the Beaver, Oscar the Otter, and the Firefly Flock...
