“Where are we going?” I asked my parents as we got on our private jet. “Singapore? Paris?” and after a moment, I asked. “England?” “No,” my mom said. “We are going to a place in Asia called Hong Kong.” | Chapter 1 | 1
Chapter 2 | “Come on!” My mom called from the Hong Kong airport entrance. “Coming!” I called back from the baggage claim struggling with the three bags I checked in and two bags I hand carried. When I finally got to the entrance, my mom had to say, “I told you not to bring so many bags!” | 2
“Why?” “Because we do not have any staff here. only the public staff.” “Please say that we do not have to take a taxi.” I complained. “Stop complaining or we will take a taxi.” My mother said sternly. That immediately shut me up. “Much better” My mom said. When we stepped out of the airport, I expected it to be freezing cold, everything covered in snow like it was at home, but no. It was cold, yes. Freezing, no. Snowy, not at all. I am pretty smart, when we studied places of the earth at school, I got a A+, but I never expected a place without snow. | 3
Chapter 3 | “Finally!” My mom exclaimed when we got to the hotel. I did not answer because I was feeling a bit queasy. When we got out of the car, I finally said. “Can you help me carry my bags?” “There is staff here!” My mom laughed, “But you have to carry at least one of your bags. I picked the smallest lightest bag, containing, a book, my phone and some jewelry. I was forced to read the book, because my mom did not let me play with my phone until we got in the room. | 5
Chapter 4 | When we finally got the room, I looked around, and thought. Well, this is not as bad as I thought. Then I grabbed my bag from where I dropped it on the floor, looked for my phone, my fingers trembling with anticipation for what I was going to do, I first called my friend Kennedy, then Alice, and finally, Lucy. When someone who was not Lucy answered the phone, I began to worry because when I call, Lucy almost answers my phone calls all the time. | 6
“Hello?” I said. “I am Chloe. May I speak to Lucy?” “Okay,” The voice at the end said. “By the way, I am Tita, Lucy’s helper.” I heard her put the phone. Then call Lucy’s name several times. “Wait a moment.” Tita told me. “I’ll have to get her.” | 7
Chapter 5 | Tita was told me about how she found the note saying, “I have got Lucy” and could not find Lucy. So I told my mom, then my dad, and my mom and I started packing. “Come in.” Tita said with a worried expression. When we got to Lucy’s house at 9:30am, I started to get exited and worried at the same time. “Lucy’s parents are inside.” Tita’s voice jerked me back to the situation. Then my dog Cookie started pulling me inside the house. | 8
Chapter 6 | “I think I have an idea.” I said as we walked up the stairs to Lucy’s room to look for any signs of where the kidnapper had taken Lucy. I went in, let Cookie sniff around a little, and came back out. “Which floor is Spotty's floor?” I asked Tita. “5th” Tita replied. I walked to that floor, grabbed Spotty's leash from the hook on the wall, and called. “Spotty! Where are you!” Spotty came out from the dog house in the corner, and I put the collar and leash on her. | 9
When I got to the living room, tugged by Spotty and Cookie, I literately ran into Tita. “Can you get a piece on clothing that Lucy has recently wore?” asked her. “Sure.” Tita answered. When she came back, she was holding Lucy’s favorite ribbon. I let Cookie sniff the ribbon, then Spotty. Then I took them out, and they started sniffing for Lucy’s scent. “Come on!” I called to my mom and Lucy’s parents. “I think they have found a scent trail!” | 10
After around 45 minutes, we found her! She was lying(not too battered)Next to a recycling bin. Suddenly, the dogs pricked their ears,—well I think they pricked their ears because their ears are floppy—and started barking. Then a man in black, holding a gun, asked Lucy’s parents for money, and threatened to kill them if they didn't give him any. So Lucy’s mom took her purse out of her bag, and gave him 20,000 pounds. “You can have her back now.” The man growled in a deep, strong voice. So we took her back to her house, and talked about school and things like that, on the sofa, petting our dogs. | 11
when it was time to say goodbye, I told her to try not to get kidnapped again. As my mom and I got on the plane, going back to Hong Kong for a few more days, I was thinking, although I like adventures, that was too much of an adventure for me! | 12
