S: Nicole are you really leaving us?

FC: The REAL HOUSEWIVES of Edgebrook and Wildwood
The ladies of Edgebrook and Wildwood (aka, "the Playgroup", "the ladies you drink with, laugh with, cry with" etc.) share memories: "I knew I loved Nicole when ..." | Starring Nicole Toft
I saw you doing keg stands at the Beta Temple. I'm kidding (I think), but I certainly have great Nicole memories going back 20 years. In recent years, there have been so many highlights. You, coming to karaoke with a bunch of drunk women, although you were not drinking (was it antibiotics or pregnancy that drove you to that?), singing Tom Petty better than he ever did. You, wondering why none of the other moms wanted to go down the Pump It Up slides. You, arranging girls' nights out, and making darned sure we made the most of them. You're my person, you know?
Beth I walked into playgroup complaining about John or Cole climbing on the toilet while I put on my make-up. Nicole, you looked at me and wisely offered, "you know what your problem was, right?" "You shouldn't be putting on make-up for playgroup." A friendship was born. We can tell that story again at John and Lucy's wedding.
Joanne I knew I loved Nicole when... 1. During one of our (many) discussions about body waxing, Nicole, very eloquently, lifted her legs in perfect V formation - SCHWING!! 2. Every time Denny Duquet appeared on Grey's she would fan her V-jay V-jay and say something about a puthy (yes, correct spelling of puthy). 3. Half way through a drunken girl's night out she announces she can't seem to find her OFF button. 4. She loved the last James Bond movie as much as I did. Queue the puthy fanning.
Karen | What's not to love?! We'll miss you.
Tanya | I knew I loved you when – you thanked me over and over again how great the wine, the company, and the sunshine was at the play group a few summers ago when I served wine. I think it was the first play group we had wine – and I was bit nervous to introduce something that would hopefully become tradition (what would everyone think of me? Wine at 11am?), but you stepped up and supported me 150% Thanks! We will miss you Nicole!
...when you said that you were "skeeved out" by the book you were reading! How descriptive! I knew just what you meant - and THAT'S when I knew. You taught me important things that I... | ...didn't know I NEEDED to know like that champagne is THE drink of choice, to be enjoyed always with cheese. The only way to watch Grey's Anatomy is on tivo so that it takes 2 hours to watch, not 1. And most recently, that "magic" powder is way better for your hair than showering! But seriously, I will really miss spending time with you. You really know the meaning of friendship and you BETTER stay in touch! Much Love, Carrie
Heather When I think about Nicole I always think about how completely REAL she is. I love that she is honest and straight-forward and tells it like it is. And, is absolutely hilarious in the process. While I could come up with a thousand silly memories about Nicole or could reminisce about what a great hostess she is (what we would do without those yummy zucchini squares and apple cake; New Year's Eve -- need I say more?!!), my favorite memory is a bit different. Last spring on one of the first warm days we were at play group at Nicole's and we were all sitting outside on her deck around that beautiful mosaic table she has. We were laughing and watching the kids in the yard and Nicole got all misty on us and talked about how this was her perfect life and would be what she would picture if she could have ever designed what her life would look like. She talked about how she loved having the yard and her friends there and it was really touching -- I felt honored to be a part of that piece of bliss and will always think of that moment when I think about Nicole. I know she will find a wonderful group of women in Nashville, because she is one of those women, herself.
Denny I'm in Hollywood, so I don't know why I'm telling you I'll miss seeing you in Chicago. You and I both know who loves you most.
Shannon | There are too many stories to recount. You always make me laugh harder than I thought possible. We'll miss you!
Claudia | Claudia | Claudia | One word OHIO! I haven't known you as long as everyone else, but I am happy that I meet you..cuz you've made things that much more fun. I know you'll shine in Nashville too!
Jackie You remembered my name & my kids names after one brief meeting. I didn't know many people in the neighborhood and you ALWAYS went out of your way to make me feel welcome! Best of luck to you, Chris, Jane and Lucy as you start the next chapter of your life together in Nashville!
Mary I knew I like Nicole from the first time I was introduced to her at playgroup by Liz Weber. She was very sweet and funny and her gals were just adorable! Nicole was even sweeter when she opened up to me via email and asked me how my new job was going and how I was doing with it-that really touched me! The best of luck to you and your family-you will be dearly missed here in Chicago!
Liz | We'll miss you very much!
