S: Lucas Jacob Austin Wilkinson
BC: This book has been about you. It was conceived in love. It was executed in love. It is given in love. We love you. Dad, Mom & Patty
1: Luke, This is a book about you. . . . .about us. Our history, our memories, traditions, joyful events from our lives. As your parents we feel that the best thing we ever did together is bring you into this world. You have been such a joy and a blessing to us. We love you so much and are so very proud of the man you have become. Watching you grow from a newborn to a 31 year old husband and father went by quick enough to give one whiplash. It's been a joy to watch and to be a part of. We love you with all our hearts. Dad & Mom Sept. 29, 2011
3: Your paternal great-grandparents were Lloyd and Bernice Fox and Jack and Irene Wilkinson. Your maternal great-grandparents were Tom and Minnie Ballard and Claude and Charlotte Mayfield. Your paternal grandparents were Betty Fox and J.D. Wilkinson . Your maternal grandparents were Betty Ballard and Joe Mayfield. Your parents were united in marriage on November 4, 1977 and were blessed with you on September 29, 1980. Some of your nicknames were Luke Duke, Big Jake (which your grandpa Joe gave you) (he also gave you your first horse ride at 9 days old.), Lucas Loranzo (compliments of Toni and Greta) and Scoop (which your Mimi Betty named you because you were such a good eater.)
5: Here we are leaving for the hospital. | The ceremony that you see in these pictures are not from our wedding day, we were married in Miami Ok and it was just the two of us. These pictures are from our wedding reception which we had on Christmas Eve day, December 24, 1977. We had waited for your mom's brother Steve because he was coming back from Sonoma for Christmas. And so it was your mothers idea to keep our marraige a secret from everyone except her folks until Christmas time. We didn't take in to account that the marraige license would be listed in the Miami newspaper. Aunt Marilyn saw it and asked your grandma Betty about it and the cat was out of the bag.
7: You started out with a lot of dark hair. You rubbed most of it off and it came back in blonde. | We left for the hospital at 5:30 p.m. Sunday . I tried my best to use my lamaze training to assist and comfort your mom, but unsuccessfully. She couldn't relax until your Mimi and Aunt Mo showed up, and with Mmi's assisstance she was ready to go in 20 minutes. I counldn't figure it out, why couldn't I get her relaxed? It wasn't until this year, 2011 , when I asked your mom about it that she informed me it was because I was busy talking to the nurse, not flirting, just talking, and it annoyed her so she couldn't relax.. | Your second Christmas morning.... | You were dedicated to the Lord when you were just a few days old at the Assembly of God Church in Chetopa. You were baptized on October 3, 1993 in the Neosho River.
8: Sleeping and eating, your two most favorite things to do. As long as you didn't do them at the same time.

Mickey (your ferret) .And there was Favor (so named because Don Brown did you a favor by giving it to you and I did you a favor by allowing you to have a dog when we lived at the funeral home). And then of course there's Molly who you got when you were 16 yrs. old working at the Old Mill (the only dog I've ever seen wrap your grandma around it's paw).
