2: My sophomore year started off with a few exciting things. I got my braces off on the second day of school. In early September, I won a contest through Pulse 99.5 and won a new iPod Shuffle.

3: Kyle started playing football this year.

4: Between 7 am practices, Friday night performances, and Saturday competitions, my fall was filled with marching band.

20: I went up to Minnesota to spend a few days with Emily. Anna welcomed me with a chalk design on the driveway.

52: Walt Disney World - Spring Break

53: We drove down to Orlando with the high school band and choir. We spent 3 days there and then headed home. We marched once and spent the rest of our days at the parks.

54: The Saturday after we got back from Florida, we had Solo-Ensemble Festival. We all played our solos and Courtney and I had a duet.

55: We ended flute lessons with a spring concert where we played our solos, duets, and a few group pieces. We wrapped up the year in band with the Parade of Bands concert in May.

56: Gene Van Wyk Memorial Run | We went to Pella to help with the Gene Van Wyk Memorial Run and then stopped to see the tulps, which were already blooming.

57: Kyle's Prom | Kyle asked Paige to prom while on the mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

58: Gotta Try a Stroopwafel! | Tulip Time 2012

59: Because the tulips bloomed early this year, there were more stems than tulips at Tulip Time.

60: We marched in the Thursday afternoon parade. We got our new uniforms just in time to be able to wear them in Pella.

61: Bus Ride Home

62: On Saturday, Kayla, Courtney, and I went back to Pella. We walked around town and watched the parade. | Marching was bittersweet as it was our last time to march with Rachel.

63: From finals to graduation, May was a crazy month. Of course, we had to add a little fun to it with graduation parties and a Panera study time. Due to having no snow days this year, we got out of school on May 22.
