25 Things We Love About Gran...
We are thankful that you love God first and foremost and that you are a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman. "Charm is deceitful, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman whom fears the Lord is worthy to be praised." Proverbs 31: 30-31. | Cody and Jenna
We are thankful that you always put family first and love us selflessly and unconditionally. You constantly go out of your way to take care of others. We love how you are so warm and welcoming. We love going over to your house for great meals and wonderful family times. Your food is so delicious, it just melts in your mouth. We hope we are as good of a cook as you are one day.
We are thankful that you always try to teach us to be fair and to treat others with kindness. | We are thankful that you and Pap loved God, loved each other, and always made things work no matter how tough the circumstances.
We are thankful for the many examples you have set for us in life and the many life lessons you have given us. For instance, we will never forget the way you took care of Pap when he was in the nursing home. You were dedicated to being there for him. That showed us what love is all about.
Dustin, Whitney, and Andi Leigh | You remember things that are important to us. You never forget a birthday or anniversary and you never forget to call and wish us the best on those days. | You know how to have fun! You are the only 80-something-year-old grandmother that we know that will ride EVERY roller coaster at Six Flags!
You have the heart of a servant and WANT to do for others. You are always willing to "fix" or get us something before you sit down and start doing for yourself. "My entire life you have done things for me without ever asking for anything in return. (Except for the time you asked me to cut down the banana trees, haha)". - Dustin
"Hey Gran" can scare the living daylights out of you. Your reaction to being "goosed" is hilarious. Ultimately, You make us laugh a lot!
Even though Pappy has been gone for this long, you can still make us feel like he is still here spoiling us.
I love your unwavering stand for what you believe is right. | I love your unselfishness and willingness to serve others.
I love all the memories spent traveling on vacation and to gymnastics competitions.
I love your old school perspective on life. | I love the genuine and funny personality you have that always makes me appreciate the small things in life.
We love how forgiving you are. You always show love and kindness to others, even if they have hurt you. You have showed us that we should love, respect, and genuinely care for others, no matter who they are. You have taught us many life lessons on how to forgive and why it is so important.
S | S | Colton and Samantha | We love how encouraging you are. If we are concerned or worried about something, you always have a kind, encouraging word ready to share with us. Your encouragement has helped us stay positive through many situations, whether it has been shown or not.
Being the woman of God that you are, you have always helped keep us on track in our walk with the Lord. It is encouraging seeing how much you love the Lord, and always showing that love to us. Your love is so strong and shines so bright in our family. You show us how important it is to be close with our family because we are the ones who will care about each other the most in this ever-changing world.
We love you because you are giving. You are so willing to help others whenever and however you can. You would give away the shirt off your back to someone in need because of your selflessness. You always put others before yourself, and show joy in doing it. | We are so thankful for who you are and what you mean to us. You are so special and we want you to know that we are so grateful for you.
I love the spirit of your salvation. | Brett | I am thankful for your love.
I love the memories of you driving me places when I was younger: to kindergarten for one or two full school years and all of our trips to Mobile together. You would always want me to give you a kiss before I got out of the car when you dropped me off at kindergarten, but sometimes that was difficult because, well, I was in kindergarten. So, we made a deal: just before the school, there was a sign with a horse and carriage on it, and every morning at the horse and carriage sign I would give you a kiss and you'd kiss me back. That way we didn't miss any kisses.
 I love your cooking!
I am very thankful for the way you are always willing and offering to help us in any way you can. I can't count how many times I've heard "Well, is there anything I can do for you before you go?" Just hearing that really helps me out sometimes, even if I don't show it. Thank you, Gran. You make a difference in my life. I LOVE YOU.
Gran, Thank you for being the woman of God that you are. You have showed us so much love and we wanted you to know how much we love and appreciate you, too. Love, Cody, Jenna, Dustin, Whitney, Jon, Samantha, Colton, Brett, and Andi
