Denise and I arrived In Orlando on November 28, 2010 and boarded a Disney shuttle to our hotel, The Disney Contemporary Resort. Since we were unable to get into our room immediately we enjoyed riding the monorail and did a little shopping in the hotel.
Monday we took a cab to Universal Studios eagerly anticipating "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter." Of course we walked through the entire area in order to finally reach Harry Potter.
Denise got me to ride the Forbidden Journey and it was quite intense but I survived. The second day we came back and she rode it 4 more times while I relaxed . We both LOVED the butterbeer! We enjoyed a great lunch at Three Broomsticks. We also visited Olilvander's Wand shop where we then purchased our wands.
Finally a ride that I loved! ET was my favorite 15 years ago when the family went and I have to say it was still fun now. Getting on the bike is another story but I did it for the kid in me. Or so Denise made me believe.
Men In Black was another ride with laser guns for shooting. Not just sure what we were aiming at. I was more interested in just getting to the end of the ride. | As for Revenge of the Mummy, well as you can see I was most interested in just keeping my hair on. This ride had so many ups and downs that the wind nearly blew my hair away. We also rode Spider Man and it wasn't much better. Why again did I go on these rides?
December 1st we visited Disney's Magic Kingdom | Finally a calm ride in the Haunted Mansion.
 Epcot and Magic Kingdom
Hollywood Studios | awaiting the parade
Our day at Epcot ended with a Christmas choral program. Although it was very cold (and we had to purchase a blanket) the music was so beautiful . Christmas lights followed by fireworks made for a wonderful ending to a great day!
Friday evening we enjoyed attending Mickey's Christmas party. Cinderella's castle was beautifully lit with many colors. Main street even had snow falling. | We had great seats for the parade and enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies.
After an 18 minute Safari drive seeing the animals we then went inside the tree of life where we viewed "It's Tough to be a Bug." What a great 3D film. We then did a walking trail where we observed even more animals.
Animal Kingdom found us with many different characters and we even saw the Festival of the Lion King. Great stage show!
Beautiful weather, great friend and so much to see and do. Sure does beat teaching school and a wonderful way to bring in the Christmas season.
The last day we drove to Plant City and spent a few hours looking (and purchasing) Gone With the Wind memorabilia. It was so cold that no one was swimming at our hotel but the lifeguard still had to be on duty.
