In January, Rachel, Melissa & I took a trip to Fredericksburg. We enjoyed browsing through the many gift shops, eating sweets along the way, and most of all - just having lots of time for good ol' fashioned girl talk.

For Spring Break 2009, the Herman family met up at Chain of Lakes to go "camping." Camping is in quotes because we were anything but roughin' it - we were taken to breakfast every morning by horse drawn carriages, had laptops to watch movies on, and slept in a lovely cabin with showers, our own kitchen, and of course, air conditioning!

In April, Kyle took me to this fondue restaurant for my 24th birthday. It was my first time to go, and although it was delicious, we both left feeling stuffed!

For our second anniversary we celebrated by having a picnic while watching the planes land at the airport. Then we came home and played games - and Kyle won!

 { | { | LOVE

Crystal and the kids visited us in May. One day while they were here we went to the Dallas World Aquarium and saw sharks, penguins, and flamingos - oh my!

 family | Fun with the

Later that summer, Luke and Lauren stayed with us for a weekend. Lauren thought it was so cool that we had a pool.... even though we had to walk up all the stairs to our third flood apartment each time someone needed a bathroom break!

Besides the pool, we also did lots of other fun things, like playing on an indoor playground at the mall, watching movies, reading books, and even baking a strawberry dessert! This was our first time to keep the kids for a weekend by ourselves, and although we had fun, we were also worn out by the end of it!

For the Fourth of July, we celebrated in Pflugerville. Gigi and Pop even came in town, and it was great catching up with everyone! We played lots of Scrabble, worked on Baby Kelso's room (at that point, the name "Levi"was still a secret), and even got to watch fireworks from lawn chairs in Lora and Mat's backward! Despite the fact that I had to snake in some study time for school, it was a wonderful weekend!

 God bless America!

Summer means one thing in the Griffith house - baseball! And summer 2009 was no exception. We of course went to some Rangers games, but we also went to an Air Hogs game. They are a minor league team in Grand Prairie, and although the park is obviously smaller, it was brand new and very nice!

Levi James Kelso October 16, 2009 6 lbs 13 oz, 19.5 in of joy!

 Gig 'Em Dallas!

In late October, Kyle and I were lucky enough to go see the A&M vs Arkansas game at the brand new Cowboys Stadium. Thanks to AJ Smith, we even got to see it from a luxury suite. Not only was it fun to see my Aggies play, but it was neat to get to experience the much-hyped stadium, too.

 Trick or Treat

 Friends

During November, I was living at home and working at my internship. Kyle surprised me in Kingwood and we got to spend a little time with Gig & Pop and Mom & Dad, too. It should be noted that the Aggies lost the football game that year but played GREAT against a Texas team that would end up making it to the National Championship game!

That winter it was time for the Griffiths to take family portraits. A friend of Crystal and Ryan took these, and we think they turned out pretty great!

After looking at a few of the planes in the cool, rainy weather, I was chilled and got to experience my first-ever vending-machine coffee! It tasted awful, but I didn't care! | One drizzly winter afternoon Kyle and I braved the weather and went to explore the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, just a few minutes from us in Addison.

2009 was the year our good friends Stephanie & Chad got engaged and married. Kyle and I were honored to both be in the December wedding. It truly was a great time to celebrate the beginning of a new family!

 Love is in the air

Christmas 2009 - for the Maxey family, this meant two new babies to dote over! Laundry was born in July and Levi had just been born in October. We certainly all loved having these new additions to our family Christmas! The holidays were a wonderful way to celebrate a great year of 2009, and we had much to look forward to in 2010.
