S: 2010 MEMORIES
FC: 2010 | Each memory we keep with care means future happiness to share.
2010 was an exciting year for our family. We purchased a cabin at Marean Lake, Stephen convocated from the College of Engineering and Bradley won a Canadian Championship with the Saskatoon Hilltops.
Mike started the year off by volunteering at the 2010 World Juniors' Hockey Tournament in Saskatoon. He enjoyed it and was at almost every game including the New Years Eve game against the United States and the Gold Final. | On February 1, we celebrated Mike's 49th birthday.
Later that month we took a trip to Marean Lake to view a cabin that Mike had heard about that was for sale.
The cabin buried in the snow. We enjoyed the winter wonderland and were really happy with the cabin. After lots of soul searching we decided to purchase the cabin.
We took possession of the cabin April 1 which was also Easter Weekend. All five of us went up. It was the first time the boys had seen it. | Mike and Stephen unloading firewood. | Mike hanging our name on the cabin to make it official.

Val's Mom celebrated her 90th birthday this year. We had several celebrations. On the actual day we had cake at our house. The following Sunday she had a tea. The following weekend we had a party with family and Mom's brothers and sisters and several of her nieces and nephews.

On the July long weekend Stephen, Kendra, Shawn Melnick, Adam Bue and Tyler Gullen all enjoyed the cabin. Here they are in the screen room playing Trivial Pursuit.
The following day the boys spent the day on the water skiing.
We had a tree company come in and remove 4 trees that weren't safe any more. It was very interesting to watch them take them down. They had a bucket truck and went up 60 feet in the air to cut down the tops of the trees. One of our trees was 80 feet tall and was growing through the roof of the cabin. | Patrick, Mike and Val spent summer holidays at our cabin at Marean Lake in August. Patrick and Mike spend much of the time cleaning out underneath the cabin.
After the trees were down we spent the next day stacking all the wood from the trees. We have enough firewood for several years. Val next to one of the piles of wood.
The last thing Mike pulled out from under the cabin was this large sink. Our next door neighbor helped him get it out with his quad. After trying to figure out how to get it out for months Mike was very satisfied that the job was done. After that he started skirting the bottom of the cabin.
We went up to winterize the cabin the last weekend in September. Mike took the opportunity to put up eave troughs and Val finished painting the front of the cabin. | Patrick celebrating his 20th birthday.
The cabin with it's new skirting and a fresh coat of paint. Before leaving the lake for the year we took one last walk. It was very beautiful with the leaves turning color and very quiet as not too many people were around.
