S: 2010 Pregnancy Journal
BC: 2010 What a year! We had just finished celebrating New Year's and getting settled back in from being gone for the holidays. Hunter and I had been thinking a lot about possibly doing some kind of mission work in our future so it was really on my heart. One night in early January, I prayed and asked God to show me where he wanted us to be. Little did I know that on the very next day, Hunter found out that the entire Real Estate Department at Wal-Mart was being reorganized and they were being told that they had to move to their territories. I came home from work and Hunter was sitting on the couch waiting for me. He told me what happened and said we had to move to Dallas in order for him to keep his job. I couldn't believe it, but I knew that this wasn't a coincidence. God didn't waste any time in showing us where he wanted us to be! Knowing that we had to move was hard because it meant that we would have to leave our church, our closest friends, and our comfort zone. But we also knew that this was obviously what God had planned for us, we just didn't know why. Maybe that would be revealed later. Less than a month later, we found out that we were pregnant! Great news, but it seemed like bad timing. As always, God's timing and choices are perfect and we learned that more than ever during this eventful, unforgettable, and greatly blessed year!

2: How We Found Out | Hunter and I had just returned home from an amazing ski trip in Colorado with our friends the Campbell's. All week I had been thinking that I might need to take a pregnancy test. We talked about it and decided it was best to wait until we got home. We arrived home around 11:00pm dropped our bags off and then headed to the store for a test (little did I know that it's recommended to take these tests in the am). Somewhere around midnight I take the test and much to my surprise did I find two pink lines! I took two more tests just to be sure, I even used a different brand of test and they were all positive. I sure didn't get much sleep that night :)
3: How We Told Our Parents | My parents happened to be coming in town that very weekend to help us lay down our new hardwood floors. Since we had just gotten home from our trip I told them I wanted to show them our ski pictures that I had saved on my computer. There was a total of 222 pictures for them to look through. When they got to the very last picture they were stunned when they saw a picture of 3 positive pregnancy tests! They were very excited and some happy tears were shed. Hunter's parents came to visit the following weekend to help us finish the floors so we played the same trick with the pictures on them. It took them a little longer to figure out what the picture was so we gave some hints. When they finally understood that we were pregnant they were overjoyed!

32: On the way to the hospital!
33: The induction was scheduled for Monday, October 4th. I wasn't told what time, just to call the hospital in the morning and not to eat anything after midnight the night before. I knew I should try to get some sleep because Monday was going to be a big day, but of course I was way too excited to sleep - and way too uncomfortable :) I got up early and got everything packed and ready to go hoping that I would get to head to the hospital that morning. When I called, I was told that it would be later in the day because they didn't have room yet. Hours went by, so I decided to go shopping. I had plenty of time for one last trip to Target and then Wal-Mart for a video camera. We decided at the last minute that we really wanted to have a video camera to film Savannah Kate. Such a good decision. Finally we got the call from the hospital around 1:00pm that we could come on to the hospital to get checked in!
34: Induction began around 2:30pm, water broke at 3:30 then I was fully dilated at 8:00. Labor lasted about 6 hours, then I pushed for 2 hours - 10:53pm you arrived!

42: Savannah Kate | On October 4th , 2010 my life was forever changed when you came into the world at 10:53 pm. I didn't understand how I could love you so much and I had only seen you for a few moments. Already I couldn't imagine life without you. You have blessed our lives with so much love and happiness. You teach me new things everyday and it has been pure joy getting to take care of you and watching you find your personality. You melt my heart when you smile and laugh at me and Daddy loves it when you hold his fingers. I know that you are telling us that you love us too. This love that we have for you could never be put into words, but one day you will understand. We love you Savannah Kate!
