January | Ella's first shiner | Playing in the snow
Mickey on Ice with Scott, Erin and Brayden 1/19/11
Erin and Angelia planned a little surprise baby shower for me on February 13. Ange had asked me to go for a pedicure that day, and when I arrived, I found, my Mom, Jan, Jenn, Kristi, Sarah, Erin, Michele and Shannon there! It was so much fun getting pedicures with the girls and celebrating the impending birth of our newest daughter! Everyone decorated a onesie for the baby, and we got lots of cute new baby things just for her!
Carlyn Michelle March 16, 2011 at 4:34 am 7 lbs 6 oz 20 inches | Mommy on due date March 7, 2011 | Waiting for Carlyn's arrival 9 days late!
With Love we Welcome | Carlyn Michelle Wilson
March | We spent a lot of time in March before Carlyn was born doing fun things with Kyle and Ella. One thing we liked a lot was visiting Rochester Museum and Science Center to see the Dinosaurs. PUMP also had Favorite Fellows Day, so Daddy got to go in and hang out with Kyle at school. Then of course, mid month we welcomed our new daughter, and the rest of the month was spent having visitors over to meet our sweet Carlyn.
 March 16th Birthday Buddies
April is always a busy month for us. We celebrate Kyle's birthday and usually Easter and this year was no exception. We were lucky enough to have Mima come stay with us for the whole week over spring break and that was a lot of fun for everyone. She helped us color Easter eggs, and was here on Kyle's Birthday. Carlyn enjoyed her first Easter and was the only of the 3 kiddos to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap! Ella was plagued with her first nasty illness with a big fever. She was back at it though after just a couple days! | April | Silly Birthday Boys
 Happy 4th Birthday Kyle
Dinosaur ROAR | We had Kyle's 4th Birthday Party at the Rochester Museum and Science Center. Kyle has been really into dinosaurs, so the Dinosaur themed party was perfect for him! The kids had a lot of fun making fossils, and dinosaur masks, and also digging for fossils and looking at the big Dinosaur "machines" (we had to make sure all the kids knew they weren't real, and Kyle told everyone "it's ok, they are only machines") There to celebrate with us were: Ariana, Lukas, Lorelei, Brayden, Lily, Cecelia, Blake, Lexie and Cameron. The kids all had a blast, and Sean and I loved leaving the mess behind!
May | Riding the rides at the Mendon Carnival
Carlyn Slept through the night! | Kyle finished his 3 year old preschool with teachers Mrs. "M", and Mrs. Armstrong. He made friends with a few boys in his class, Braydon, Jacob, and Patrick (and I with their Mom's). We celebrated at the PUMP end of year picnic. Only one more year of Pre-K before the big K!!!
In June we started to really get some great weather. The kids got to start playing in the water and enjoyed lots of time outdoors. Kyle took his swimming lessons at PHS, and went to see Cars 2 at the movie theater with Brayden. Sean was in London for a few weeks, and surprised us by coming home early the day before Father's Day. Carlyn met GG Jo for the first time this month too! | JUNE
 Amazing Fun on the Fourth
We went to the cottage for the 4th of July this year with the whole Crandall gang. We had a blast! We walked to and climbed Big Rock, participated in the 4th of July Colton Parade, and spent lots of time playing in the sand and sun! Carly did some first time cottage things, and Kyle made sure to show Ella all the fun stuff to do there since she was old enough to enjoy it this year!
JULY | Carlyn's Baptism | July 10, 2011 | Swimming Lessons | Ella's | We were busy in July with lots of summer activities. Kyle was signed up for Sporty Sprouts which was a mix of soccer, basketball and tennis. It took place over 2 really hot weeks, and he had a blast with his buddy Brayden. Meanwhile, Ella took swimming lessons at the Perinton Rec Center. She loved getting to play in the water and going down the froggy slide. Sean and I got to go out on the Joynson's boat for a nice ride on Lake Ontario-which was a great night! We had a blast. July was a hot month, and we spent a lot of it doing fun summer stuff!
Sporty Sprouts | Boat ride and dinner on Lake Ontario
August | Ella's Big Girl Bed | August is usually a relatively calm summer month for us. We enjoyed lots of lazy summer afternoons! Ella climbed out of her crib, making her switch to her big girl bed sooner. She did quite well with the change. Early in the month we took Kyle to Seabreeze with the Vandeburg's and that was a lot of fun! We had a great night at Pane Vino to celebrate the August Birthdays too!
SEABREEZE | Carly's 1st time swinging | a late night made for a sleepy boy!
Cowgirl | Party | Nothing describes Ella better than "cowgirl", so there was no question that would be her birthday party theme. She is full of sweetness but sass surely shines through. Her fluffy, skirt and cowboy boots and hat were perfectly matched to her personality. I loved all the details of this party from the cute Cowgirl Ella posters, to the cowhide covered cake. It was perfectly Ella. We celebrated the day with all our favorite friends and family, and Ella was showered with tons of "Tink" and cowgirl stuff!
 Carly started solids
Before | After | Ella's 1st Haircut | Shire Court Block Party | September started out with a very hot Labor Day. Our block hosted a party and we had a great time listening to music, enjoying food, watching the kids play and hanging out with our neighbors. It really was nice to see what a great community we live in! Both Kyle and Ella started school in mid-September. Kyle is in Mrs. M's class again, and Ella started in the 2 year old room with Mrs. Rothwell and Mrs. B. She seems to love it, but cries at drop off time. We are hopeful that she'll grow out of that! Ella also got her first haircut, which was not a popular idea with everyone, but the ends were getting scraggly, so off it came! Carlyn started on solid foods, and had no hesitation with that at all! She loved them!
Happy | Busy, busy October! There is always so much to do! We started out the month with our annual visit to Power's Market to pick pumpkins, and enjoy other fall fun activities. We also went to a few Halloween parties, dressed as Strawberries, Strawberry Shortcake, a Police Man, and a Jailbird. Carlyn started sitting up all by herself this month. It was a busy and very fun month!
We did a lot of Thanksgiving celebrating in the month of November. We had our third annual Thanksoween dinner with the Wils'on's at Todd and Angelia's house. It was delicious as usual. The kids always have a great time playing with their cousins. Kyle had a "Thanksgiving feast" at school, and made an Indian shirt and named himself "Amazing Rainbow" We celebrated Thanksgiving Day at Aunt Susie and Uncle Rob's. It was another day filled with fun and great food! | Thanksoween Feast | Carlyn's 1st Thanksgiving | November
"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus | The Great Pumpkin Adventure
December is all about preparing for Christmas, and this year was no different! We cut down our Christmas tree at Franke's tree farm right after Thanksgiving, and a few days later, Peppy Smiklefigus, our elf, arrived. We had breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus at PUMP, and celebrated buddy Brayden's 4th Birthday. After Christmas Sean and I got together with our grown-up friends to ring in 2012!
Excited about Dinos at Brayden's 4th Birthday Party | DECEMBER | Welcome Peppy
Then and Now, the true gifts of Christmas are Peace, Joy and Love
2011 was a very busy, and special year for the Wilson's. There are so many wonderful memories filling these pages! We look forward to another fun filled year in 2012!
