S: A Book of Goodbyes for Jessica
BC: I love you!
FC: A BOOK OF GOODBYES
It's been a year since you left Germany, Kandern, BFA, and Palmgarten. They say it's important to say goodbye to the things that meant something to you in your time here. I know you are good at adapting and have made adjustments, friends, and a new home away from home; but I think as time moves on and as BFA becomes more of a distant memory I want you to have a visual for all the seemingly random memories you might have of this place. I won't pretend to know what was important to you before your senior year, but I've tried to collect pictures of things you want to say goodbye to in your mind and heart. Maybe you can even show the people close to you what was important to you and the things you might miss. This book isn't meant to dredge up memories on a purely sentimental note, but to help you have a way to release these years you spent at BFA while knowing you have a place where you can still look back and feel that old familiarity.
Meghan Knight Someone who came alongside you and poured into your life. You shared soccer season and many other moments that drew you together. She was the first one who said we would get along =)
Jessica Chestnut The most unlikely pair of roommates. You two went through the process of learning to befriend each other, live together in harmony, care about each other deeply and became good friends in the process.
You once said your senior year that this group of friends was the best group of friends you had ever had. They made your senior year incredibly special. | Hannah Kraines Jenny Ellis Natalie Bertrand Caroline Belch
David Lee: Great hugs, loyal friend Julia Lee: Little sister that looked up to you Anna Hanchett: Dorm sister through the years Stephanie Friehe: Soccer bond
Rachel Phillips Rachel was one of the first adults to befriend you and pour into your life. I look at you and see her influence. I'm thankful for the time she spent with you at Palmgarten!
US Well it's been a year of being friends long distance now, and we've had our ups and downs. I remember many nights of convincing you to let God shut our friendship down if He wanted to instead of us deciding to end it =) I'm so thankful for you in my life and for the friendship we have. There is nothing that compares!
Goodbye to number 9! You were revered on that soccer field. Some of my favorite memories are watching you play up at Marzell and in Lorrach. Now I can't wait to see you wear a different uniform with a different number.
Now you can show people that you actually played basketball! Although I think you were on the floor more than standing so I don't know if it counts. | Had to get a picture of Sam in here!
I feel that this picture best marks the randomness of the dorm. I bet you'll never meet another person that loves to paint faces the way Hannah does. | Your old room in all its messy glory!
Photo shoots on the way to school. | Dog sitting. You, Jess and Jersey bonded for life. Cleaning poop, chasing after her, running with her, dealing with her snoring.
Korean dances | Crazy Julia | Piano practice haha
Palmgarten: Nutella kisses, birthday dessert, creeking van ride, sign out board (because you used it oh so often)
EunJi's faces Feuerbacher Strasse 29 | Dorm dad Palmgarten
 P A L M G A R T E N | 2 0 0 9 - 2 0 1 0
Our favorite run | Start at Palm, to the golf course, up the huge hill (with German golfers staring at us), through the woods of Riedlignen, out to the vineyards of HBR, then decide to go through Holzen or turn back around. Best running partner, hands down.
Jersey The sad face is supposed to make you want to come back and see her
MORE RUNNING and the golf course
Our early morning at the monument. We were both looking good! Kandern misses you...
