What Have I Learned This Year I have learned so much in my 7th grade year let us start from six period to third. Math ending the day with a teacher that got me interested in math. Long division, fraction, decimals, percents, area, perimeter, circumference, positive, negatives, diameter, and that a circle is any shape they want to be. Fifth period after lunch ,a tad tired, but I learned so much with a teacher a bit crazy that thought science. I learned the ribbon of life; a banana has seeds, cells, genetics with Harry Potter, and way more. Before lunch geography we did have fun in this class. Painting, movies, but we did learn. We learned that China is strict; Monsoon Asia is just one part of Asia, and other religions like Daoism. Last a class that thought me so much not just for now but for later on in life too. Ms. Stratton, who thought me another language called poetry, that living life like a metaphor rocks, also that being judge mental can start a war, and the world is better if you pay attention. I will never forget being in the Odyssey Core. I could never forget the time we got to hike up and down in nature together. I have learned so much this 7th grade year.

A Never Forgettable Day It hurts to be told, more in the first place, even more on April Fool’s Day, having to go through the day wondering if it’s true. To others it’s a joke to me it was true. You could say it was a not so funny joke. I went through the day thinking it was a lie. (The days in the sun with long walks together) I wouldn’t fell as bad if I didn’t pick favorites. My beloved friend died in the place where she used to chase me in the yard. When I look around I can’t see that everything happens for a reason. I remember everything like the alphabet. It was rainy in the morning, gloomy; sunny later, perfect waking weather. It was extra windy that night, the wind whispered to me. I won’t ever forget that phone call after school. I was wearing my favorite green Vail shirt, old blue caprices, and a plane pair of white flip flops. The phone was on speaker; she had a firm voice, it was her job to let us down. When I was told it was true, that she had left us, I hung the up the phone and walked slowly up to my room. Shut the door softly, seconds after water falls down my cheeks, I threw myself on a bed covered in stuffed animals. Still weeping my cat ran up to me and comforting me. I smiled a little and said, “She’s happy now.”

We were so far away from one another, but our hearts were connected. One day I am a happy little girl then everything stopped. I should have been there. Mom says its cycle of life, all the time I say to myself she is happy she is not sick any more. My German Short Haired Pointer, saved from the shelter was gone. There for my first steps as a baby to the 6th grade. I will never forget my beloved Kesha. My heart broke like a pencil snapping or a twig collapsing from a tree. My heart might never heal from this cycle. My heart was a shattered plate. I’ll always hold on to her like cat to yarn or dog to bone. The hand on the clock swipes away lives not yours, yet, but your loved ones. | "Every breath you take is on more step to death" -Tima

How Who is to blame? How could people live with themselves knowing the truth? But even worse is denying Saying they did not know about the camps When people were test rats for believing in something other than you. Knowing your Friends Neighbors And everyone else you thought was a good person They say that standing up for the Jews was not an option But I ask myself Who would stand up if it were to happen again? You’re so called friends I ask again Who is to blame? Hitler and his army Yes But The people who did not stand up for the Jewish people They were people like us to Like you and me Mothers Fathers Children And Babies I do not know what you think But I say it is sickening to know what happened because People were different. | "There must be people who remember World War II and the Holocaust who can help us get out of this rut." - Martin Scorsese

This I Believe I believe that people who try to be something or someone they are not. Do not deserve to show the whole world their own special talent. We all can do something amazing! People who push you away and put you down that way, are afraid of how wonderful you really are. I believe that the dark sees the truth in and out. I believe that rain drops are not tears. No matter what people tell me. Rain is beautiful and the sun frowns. I think we are different and we should stay. I also believe you do not need to dress up to prove a point or be something you are not. THIS I BELIEVE | I believe ~ that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.- Sarah

Dear Ms Stratton, You are a wave you impacted me. all your other students. You have helped me learn so much. you have helped me see things in a different way. Now I see the things behind the stuff they want you to stare at. When I saw your room my first thought was not normal. In a good way. I have learned life is way better if you see it in a metaphor. I could not try to explain to anyone my third period class. We learned about so many different things. Where do I a start? here it goes, The Outsiders made me cry, the Holocaust changed my life, and I cannot put all I learned on I page. Thank You Ali
