FC: Thirteen Reasons Why ABC Book. By:Jemauria Mungro
1: Asher | Asher is the author of Thirteen Reasons Why. It was written about his relative who tried to commit suicide. Without him it would be no book.
6: Bullying | Bulling is the theme of the book. Hannah was bullied during her freshman year of high school. Bulling is what made her kill her self.
7: Clay Jensen | Clay Jensen is basically the main character. He is one of Hannah's thirteen reasons. He is one of them so Hannah can tell her story to him and also so she can tell him sorry. (p.200)
8: Depressed | A valentine survey was issued by the cheerleaders. Clay believed that it was for depressed people. Clay said that their should be a noble prize for the depressed. (p.129.)
9: Eisenhower Park | Eisenhower park is where Hannah dreamed of her first kiss. It is also where her first kiss took place. It took place on the rocket slide. (p.25)
10: Freshman Class | Freshman class is important in two ways. The first way is simply because Hannah was a freshman. The other way is that freshman ruined Hannah's life with a list of who's hot/ who's not. (p.39)
11: Guidance Counselor | The Guidance counselor is Mr. Porter who is also Hannah's English teacher. Hannah went to him one day to talk about her problems Mr. Porter told her to move beyond her problems. That is what put her over the edge. (p.55)
12: Hannah Baker | Hannah Baker is a high school freshman. She is important because she sent out seven cassette tapes with thirteen reasons why she killed her self. Also the book is about her story.
13: Incite | The thirteen people on Hannah's list incited her to committed suicide. They all did something to her to push her to the edge. By them inciting her she committed suicide.
14: Justin Foley | Justin Foley is the person that Hannah had her first kiss with. It took place at Eisenhower Park. Her kiss was just how she dreamed it would be. (p.26)
15: Kind | Kind is a theme. It is a theme because during the whole book Clay was always worried about Hannah. I felt that he was kind to her to leave when she asked him to at the party without getting crazy. (p.216)
16: Lonely | In a peer communication group Hannah talked about someone being lonely. People in the group suggested that the person could sit with them at lunch. The whole time no one knew that the person was Hannah. (p.171)
17: Map | The map plays a big part in Hannah's story. When Clay received the tapes in a shoe box it came with a map of places that Hannah wanted him to go. Every place on the map is a part of her story. (p.11)
18: Noble Prize | Clay believed that the valentine survey the cheerleaders issued deserved a noble prize. He believed that it was for depressed loner. The loner is Holden Coalfields.(p.129)
19: Oh My Dollar Valentine | Oh My Dollar Valentine is a survey issued by the cheerleaders. It is a computerized survey for the student body. It is used to set up the student body on dates. (p.127)
20: Post Office | The post office is where Hannah mailed the shoe box with seven tapes and a map. The shoe box is mailed with no return address. The shoe box is mailed just how Hannah wanted it to be. (p.1)
21: Quiet | Hannah is described as quiet. She never really had any friends. She had one friend; Courtney but she used her. (p.125)
22: Rosie's | Hannah and Marcus meet at Rosie's. The very next day she got her hair cut. Changing her appearance is on of many signs that she was suicidal. (p.163)
23: Suicide | Suicide is a theme. It is a theme because Hannah had lots of suicide signs all around her. There is thirteen reasons why she committed suicide.
24: Tony | Tony is in the book for a good reason. Hannah sent him the extra set of tapes. She sent them to him because she knew that could trust him to make sure everyone who was supposed to listen to the tapes did. (p.235)
25: FrUstraction | Hannah got frustrated when she was along in the room at the party. She became more frustrated every time she made a new connection. As she made the connection to Clay it drew a line back to Justin. (p.217)
26: Velcro | Clay heard the sound of Velcro tear apart. Hannah was stuffing her recorder into her backpack. He heard the Velcro because Hannah recorded her conversation with Mr. Porter. (p.269)
27: Walkman | The Walkman belongs to Tony. Clay went to Tony's house and stole it. The Walkman plays cassette tapes. (p.33)
28: Olly Olly OXen Free | When ever Hannah walked into peer communications she felt like saying "Olly Olly Oxen free!" It was her safe place at school. In that class no one was allowed to touch her or snicker about her. (p.153)
29: Young | Young is a theme. It is a theme because everyone on Hannah's tapes is young. Also because Hannah killed her self at young age.
30: Zach Dempsey | Zach Dempsey is one of Hannah's thirteen reasons that hurt her the most. Zach took nice letters out of Hannah's bag in class. Until one day Hannah caught him and flipped out on him in the hallway at school. (p.159)
