S: Adams Family 2011
The Uittenbogaards had their annual New Year's Eve murder mystery party again. | I was a photo journalist and Doug was a smarmy ladies' man.
Doug and Ronnie took Carleigh, Kelsey, LC and several more friends to night skiing at Paoli. Fun was had by all and there were no injuries! | Turns out I tore my right ACL on our last day of skiing in Breck. Big surprise since the pain wasn't bad. Mom came to help Doug take care of me after surgery on Feb. 8. | Trivia Night at church. We're weren't sure I would be up and around right after the surgery but with the help of strong painkillers, I was good to go. We are not very good at trivia but didn't embarrass ourselves.
We love Valentine's Day. We did secret Valentines this year and spent Valentine's Day over with the babies.
Winter sports were pretty lowkey this year. Nolan played on the Southern Middle School B team and the Pistons (in that same uniform, still too big). Evan swam and consistently dropped time, qualifying for the state meet in ****. He and Carleigh both played indoor soccer. Evan's team was league champions!
I headed to Fort Myers at the end of February for Mom's big retirement party. Angie, Liz and Ruth met me there and Angie and I spent a little time checking out the happening nightlife in Bonita. I had a little trouble at the airport with my big leg brace :( | Mom's party was wonderful. The speeches, food, decorations and guests were all top notch. Greggy helped me during my speech about being the daughter of a nurse. | Mom's Retirement Party
March Chance came to stay with us in early March. He is four months old and a very happy, healthy baby. We celebrated Wyatt's first birthday this month and got to spend lots of time with him, Tae and Hannah. Cha'Sed officially asked Carleigh to prom - woo hoo!
Steph's spring break | Doug and I headed to California wine country for a weekend of wine tasting. We spent a day in San Diego then stayed at Marbrisa in Carlsbad. We went on the World of Wine tour in Temecula and visited over 30 wineries in 2 days - whew! We also went to the Indian Reservation casino (where we lost as usual). I then headed to Marietta to visit with Sailor and Tristan.
April was full! Between spring break, Easter, soccer and softball, we were hopping! We celebrated Tae's birthday, traveled to Indy twice and Columbus for soccer. Just as I was getting more mobile and closer to a full recovery with my knee, Carleigh broke her elbow, playing softball.
We had the babies over to color eggs and hunt for baskets then traveled to Indy for Easter because Evan had a soccer game there.
Spring Break '11 Fort Myers | Connor joined us this year and Greggy got to come over for a long weekend. I had to come home early so Doug dropped Carleigh off in Siesta with the girls and visited Ken and Linda in Orlando.
We got to Sanibel and Ft. Myers beaches and just hung out at home. Mom, Carleigh and I went shopping and found the perfect prom dress. | Poor Evan had lots of homework but the boys had a big time fishing and mini golfing in Orlando.
Carleigh and Cha'Sed attended Dunbar and Tates Creek's proms. Good value on her dress! They had fun at both, even with Carleigh's huge arm - Dunbar's prom was five days after Carleigh's surgery. For Creek's she had a smaller but still very conspicuous brace. | Chance is eating baby food now. He had a little trouble at first but quickly got used to it. He is still drooling like crazy but has no teeth yet. | TCHS's disabled list - Finley got mono right after Carleigh's surgery. | Tae turned 2 and we went to her party at the Hogans'.
Noly's CSC continued to dominate all opponents. Nolan played more this season and gained confidence with every game. He was content to cheer from the bench during the really heated games though! The team made it all the way to the finals in State Cup. | Evan was asked to join the LFC U17 Premier team at the beginning of the spring season. It was a big decision but he jumped right in, sharing games with the other keeper. Ev's athleticism and heart made up for the lack of much formal training. He enjoyed meeting new kids and traveling to Indy and Columbus with the team.
It was different Dale Hollow this year. Carleigh, Kelsey and Lauren were missing and the Gullos - minus Jamie, joined us. We had a good time but it was a little more lowkey than usual. The Dads did have a vicious tube battle with the injuries to show for it.
Ronda, Sibel and I spent time on the porch in the one spot with phone reception trying desperately to catch up with our GSP campers. | Doug and Ronnie found a way to avoid dock fees - our boats were at the bottom of this treacherous hill that we had to traverse with all of our bags and coolers at the start and end of each day. Ronnie and Doug also encountered skinny dippers when they went to check on the boats after a storm - which left the path muddy.... | We ate well this year as always. Bob brought his famous spaghetti sauce and the Gullos and Adams made a Mexican fiesta complete with margaritas and Anderson's famous guac. Evan made Eggs Benedict one morning as well. | Lots of napping went on. | They might look like homeless children in this picture but actually they are a fine, fun bunch.
Pinnacle Pirates We only had two swimmers this year but we had a big time. Greggy was here for conference and showed his pirate spirit! | Evan was given the Phillip Shelton award. | Doug would have won the parent relay for the Pirates if he had only worn his speedo! | Evan and Noly had a big cheering section!
We missed Carleigh while she was at GSP but she had the experience of a lifetime. | Chance got tubes after several solid months of ear infections. He was a trooper though! | Anderson was in charge of clipping fingernails. Chance will only let her do it! | What a bunch of babies! | Chance and Nickie
 WATER 2011
 Creek Nation 2011
Senior Night was just as hard this time as with Anderson. We will miss watching our little #2 on the field!
Back to school - Carleigh is a senior, Evan is a junior and Nolan is in 8th grade. Hard to believe that we are looking at a couple more graduations and the end of middle school. | Carleigh was on Homecoming Court as the Softball rep.
Chance and I traveled to Bowling Green to see Anderson's apartment, meet Andrew and attend her concert. We had a very good time at the apple orchard. | Chance is such a big boy now - he is crawling for real, pulling up and cruising around. He loves to make as much noise as possible! He says, "no, no, no" when he is doing something wrong! | We had all kinds of excitement when Chance had a couple of seizures. All was well but he looked pretty funny when he got his EEG.
We stopped in Atlanta on the way home to see Tristan and Sailor. We made it just north of Knoxville and the wheelbearing on the van blew. A tense couple of hours and lots of money later, we were back on the road. | AUBURN | We met the Walls, the Brenes and the Ashleys in Auburn for the AU v FL game. It was a beautiful weekend and Auburn won! We stayed in a house on Payne Street, right down from where V, Lisa and I lived our senior year.
We had a big month in October. We carved pumpkins as usual. Chance loved his pumpkin! Anderson brought Andrew home for a whirlwind tour of the best of the Bluegrass - Malones, Keeneland, UK game and a halloween party at UK. It was a busy but fun weekend.
Chance went back home to his momma on Oct. 28 but we celebrated his first birthday at our house with friends and the babies. | First haircut! In hindsight, the sucker wasn't such a good idea.
 NCYC 2011 indy
Thanksgiving was very joyful this year. Deb, Lauren and Deb's brother Chuck and his family joined us as well as Carlene and Nickie and Chance. We had a very traditional meal and then played games and relaxed together. | Evan got his wisdom teeth out on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. He was a trooper and was eating turkey on Thanksgiving!
She's 18! Carleigh celebrated her big birthday at the Melting Pot. UK gave her a big present - a win over Tennessee for the first time in over 20 years!
Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas tree
We got to see the babies on Hannah's 4th birthday. They are getting so big! | We made lots of cookies this year (actually Carleigh made lots of cookies) but the highlight is always Kris Kringle cookies with the annual decorating contest. | Little Bucket Head! | Evan has a lowkey 17th birthday. We had dinner at home with Julia and then a cake.
Christmas Eve | We did things just a little different this year. We attended the Childrens Pageant at Pax and Carleigh was the narrator. We came home and did Secret Santas and then headed to the Japanese restaurant with Carlene and Charlie. We ended the night at Midnight Mass at Christ the King. The kids all slept in Anderson's room.
Christmas morning was lowkey but Santa actually surprised Noly with his basketball goal.
We celebrated Christmas with Lori, Patti and Olivia on the 26th. Andrew was in town as well. | I got to visit with Harmony and Tina when they were driving through Lexington. | The new goal was quite a lot of work for Doug, Nolan, Evan and Andrew. They had to dig a big hole, use a lot of concrete and fill that hole back in. Nolan is very happy with his goal though! | Andrew brought his deer meat and with the help of Bryan, he and Anderson made tasty deer sausage.
Skiing in Snowshoe, WV It was Dale Hollow, winter edition. We rented a big house with the Gullos and the Powells and headed north to the slopes. There were all kinds of early mishaps including torrential rain, utter lack of cellphone service, serious ice and snow and a lost Anderson but we persevered and had a great time.
