30: Homer Homer features a spit with the longest road into ocean waters in the entire world. The spit is a 4.5 mile piece of land jutting out into Kachemak Bay and home to the Homer Boat Harbor. The Harbor can hold up to 1500 boats. Hundreds of eagles used to gather on the spit in winter to be fed salmon by Jean Keene, the "Eagle Lady". This was later stop by environmentalists. Homer is also home to the Salty Dawg Saloon which is constructed out of several historical buildings from Homer.
