I have strong beliefs about my religion, as I am getting older I learn more and more everyday at school & home about the importance of religion in my life.
POSITIVE | CHALLENGES | 1. During my early stars of life I faced difficult challenges. This difficult challenge became my strive and passion and I see it as a positive challenge. - I was born with a heart murmur which required a heart surgery at the age of 10 days and 13 months. I spent the first 6 years of my life in and out of hospital. I had 2 heart surgeries and 3 surgeries on my esophagus.
One time i swallowed an apricot seed, that alone it was an 8 hour operation. But i still thank God each and everyday that i am still alive fighting fit and healthy.
 2. My family is a positive challenge in my life, they have given me the support and strength i needed to face the hardships the difficult situations i have come across.
My family does not just include my parents, but also my grandparents, aunties and uncles. They have given me the driving power and positive attitude to keep on going in every situation.
NEGATIVE | CHALLENGE | 1. A negative challenge in my life was when I started kindergarden in St Joseph school and had made nice friends and then just before starting year 1 my parents changed my school to St Charbel's College. It took me nearly the whole year to get readjusted with the new school, it was an intense program and at the same time I was trying to make new friends.
 2. A negative challenge in life would have to be the time when I was in year 6 and I was a victim of bullying. - This incident went on for 2 terms and made me hate school and everything to do with friends and school. I didn't want to go to school and everything in my life during that period seemed to be a negative point, even if it was good. I always saw the negative side before the positive.
COPING | STRATEGIES | Some advice I will give a year 6 student making their transition into high school is the following: 1. Ask about everything that you don't understand. By asking you are eliminating the room for error and panic attacks with the different environment between primary and high school.
 2. Learn where all your classes are located, don't depend on others to tell you. Ask for a school floor lay-out marking all classrooms to avoid getting lost. 3. Write down notes and pay attention in class. This is very important so when you come to study for a test you know all the information you need to know.
 4. Plan your time effectively to complete class and homework in the given time. If you fall behind, there are no revision classes to depend on, then you will need to catch-up in your own time. Catching up on 1 subject, may mean you can fall behind on another subject.
 5. Don't stress, all your teachers and fellow classmates will help you to adjust between primary and high school. Stress is never the answer, it may cause more problems than you except. There is always someone to talk to like the school councilor.
SHORT | TERM | GOALS | My two short term goals are: | 1. Getting to know where everything is and the basic layout of the high school. Example: labs, classrooms locations.
 2. Manage my time between classes, rotation and going to the lockers quickly and not forgetting books behind.
INTERMEDIATE | GOAL | My 1 intermediate goal is: | 1. To organise my time more effectively and use time wisely and not leave homework/assignments to the last minute and have a panic attack that I have too much to do. Getting into a study routine for revising my class work for each subject can help me when i have a test coming up.
LONG | TERM | My two long term goals are: | GOALS | 1. By the end of the year my main aim is to try and establish which career path I might want to take. So I can choose the right subjects ti study.
 2. To maintain my primary grades of high achievements and not allow my grades to drop.
MAJOR | CHANGE | One big change that I expect to deal with in my life over the next 5 years, will be what I want to do in the future. What events will take place in my later schooling year of high school that will help me choose what I will go onto do. whether it will be further higher education line university or go out into the workforce straight after year 12.
This challenge in life will shape who I am and where I might be in 20 years time that is why I fell it is a major change that I will have to deal with during my high school years. | This is a change which I always think about and it scares me, what if I choose to take the wrong path in my career or studies. It would have been a waste of time. This may mean I may not be happy or comfortable with what I am doing.
