3: Arthur's dad's name is Arthur Henry Eddington. His mom's name is Sara Ann Shout. Arthur's dad was a headmaster and proprietor. He taught at a Quaker training college in Lancashire. Arthur's dad died while he was a little boy. He died of Typhoid. Arthur's mom had to take care of him and his sister from there on. Arthur later on died of cancer. 4: Arthur was the first person ever to prove that Einstein's theory was correct twice. In 1906-1913 he was chief assistant director of The Royal Observatory in Greenwich. In 1914 he was named Plumian of Astronomy and became director of the observatory.

5: Arthur was an astronomer, physicist, and mathematician. He was a philosopher of science and a popularizer of science.

6: Arthur Eddington was a great "giant" because without him we wouldn't know if the Einstein theory was correct, which it is because he proved it twice. We also wouldn't have the Eddington Limit. 7: Fun Facts about Arthur | -He mastered the 24x24 table by himself before he could read. -Since he was a Quaker he couldn't go into war. -In 1915 he began studying the internal constitution of stars. -In 1919 he led an expedition to Brazil to see the solar eclipse. -The Eddington Limit, the natural limit to the luminosity of stars, and the radiation generated by accretion onto a compact object, are named in his Honor. -He won 9 awards.
