FC: Elizabethan England

Geography | Elizabethan England included England, Whales and Ireland, which is makes up most of todays modern day Great Britain. Elizabethan land consisted of mountainous ranges and rolling hills which created the sufficiency of transportation by horse.

There are various seas around England. These include, the North Atlantic Ocean, Irish Sea and the North Sea.

Religion | After England begun to separate from the Pope, conflicts arose between Catholics and Protestants.. Religious tolerance began to subside due to the Church of England development.

Another aspect of religion, was superstition. Their beliefs in superstition played a big role in their daily life. | Witchcraft widely spread through England as well. Many witches became scapegoats for bad events that would occur.

A C H I E V E M E N T S | Many new forms of architecture and art came out of the Italian Renaissance Ex) Painting, portraits, construction, theatre, etc. | Education also flourished as new skills in reading and writing departments broke through. | Advancements in transportation, trade and travel also arrived. The journeys to the new world served as an entry way to discoveries of new spices.

During Queen Elizabeth's rule, she was looked upon as the highest figure upon society. Although the Parliament made up most of the government, Queen Elizabeth had a say in their decisions as well. | The levels of government were divided four groups. The highest and most exclusive group was national, then regional, then county, then the lowest and largest group were the town and villages

Economy | Valuables and discoveries from trade were inherited from family. | Wool trade blossomed and allowed many of the less fortunate and less skilled to work and support their family lives | The feudal system corrupted which lead to the incoming merchant class.

Society | In Elizabethan Society, women were to marry, at a young age, to a man arranged and chosen for her. As men were looked at as superior to women, women became property of their husband. Typically, wives and or mothers would be a traditional house held wife in which she would clean, care and watch the children. | The highest class in society was the Lord and the lowest were the unskilled laborers.

Milania Salici | Hear ye! My name is Milania Salici; 23 years of age. Although usually unlikely, I have been newly hired by the King as the Town Crier in which provides me with information about various families in the town. For the most part, I rarely deliver good news to a front door. I enjoy the scandals of the Montague family very much. It is very likely for one of the Montague sons to get into mischeif, especially Romeo. As I travel throughout town, door to door, delivering news, my husband, Albino, follows along with the gold bell. I provide more than enough for my husband and I. We live comfortably in our home and carry ourselves properly. Being that I'm hired by the king, I am a part of the upper class in Verona. I am average weight of a woman, 115 pounds, slim and poised. I have grown up as a petite woman at 5'1". You will recognize my blue eyes which contrat my very dark hair, which draws me apart from the typical italian folks I spend time with. I've become timid, yet opionated and sympathetic. I tend to be quiet, yet talkative when comfortable. I am known for being petite and being blessed for unique traits. As a town crier, I am provided with wealthy clothing in which I would be presented in a proper manner. My home is comfortable and exquisite for Albino and I. As we try to build a family, we would like to expand our home. Because my family grew up with the Capulets, I've become an acquaintance of the family. We likely have dinner together and sometimes meet in the town square.
