3: Athena was the daughter of Zeus and Metis and the sister of Porus. She was delivered out of Zeus'’head after he ate Metis, her mother, while she was in her womb. Athena was the goddess of war, civilization, wisdom, strength, strategy, crafts, and justice. Her symbols are the owl, the snake, and the olive tree. Stories say that she helped Perseus in killing Medusa, she taught Heracles how to remove skin off of the Neaman lion, and she helped guide Odysseus to his dreams on his way back from Troy.
