FC: Fall 2011
Back Row: Coach Donna Lee, John, Marian, Zach, Coach Christine Jenkins, Logan, Griffin, Coach Duane Whitt Front Row: Jay, Matthew, Nick, Alex and Jozef | The Gorillas Mt. Gilead Soccer League 2011
This is Zach's third and final year to play soccer. He loves playing soccer with Griffin and Dylan. He scored several goals in practice and one during a game this season! | Dylan | Griffin | Zach | Awesome head shot!!
Half-time pep talk | I shared coaching responsibilities with Christine this year so we could keep Zach and Griffin on the same team. I learned a lot about soccer and improved my goalie skills. | Christine and Griff | Griffin
At the beginning of August, we had some Amish workers put a new metal roof on the house. The top pictures are the old shingles; middle pictures are shingles being removed and the bottom pictures show the metal roof. It is nice to hear the rain, but it made it hard to make calls on our cell phones.
Trailer loaded with all the metal for the roof. | Please tell us there are no more nails!!!
 Animals on the farm.
Mason took some pictures in the rain. He has a very creative eye!
 Good Heart Farms
 August 2011
The boys were given the project of taking off old and putting new shingles on the Little Red Barn. Zach was the brains and Mason was the muscle. They made a good team and did a good job. | August 12, 2011
Zach's 1st Piano Recital At the beginning of May, Zach said that he would like to take piano lessons. I called Jennie Heacock and he took his first lesson on May, 17th. After just 12 lessons, he played a duet with Grandma Martha on August 20, 2011. They played "Simple Gifts." The recital was at the Kingston Care Center in Marion, Ohio. | Zach and Grandma practicing.
Tom borrowed Rick Uncapher's dump truck to haul fill from back at the creek. | The workers seem to have abandoned their posts. I think it was break time. | Are we ever going to be ready to put the stone over the fill???? | Tom packed down the fill and stone with the Kubota tractor. | We all got extremely tired of listening to the beeping from the transit instrument!! | Finally, as level as we are going to get it. It is ready for cement. | 8-20-2011
August 25th found us pouring cement for the floor of the garage. Workers included Tom, Raymond, David, Ivan, Don and Mike. I was in charge of the camera, just the way I like it when it comes to cement! | 8-25-2011
It took us about 30 days to get this project to the point of being ready to build walls. It was hard work out in the very hot August sun. It took Tom, the boys and I 4 days to build the walls and put up the sheeting. Raymond, David and Ivan came on Sept. 2nd when the high was 96 degrees. On that one day, all the rafters went up and the metal sheeting was on. We started the day at 7am and I took them home after dark. That was a very long day. It makes me sigh just sitting here typing and thinking about it. The building is 30' x 52'.
 September 2, 2011
The boys helped some and Tom put up the corners and trim pieces, but I put up 95% of the siding and soffit on the garage. Tom built 4 sets of shelves to use for storage, because you can NEVER have enough storage!
Late summer found us selling and freezing corn. Can you tell just how much the boys love to shuck corn? They may not enjoy it, but they have become very good at it over the years. It sure tastes good in the cold winter months.
2011-2012 | School Year | August 22, 2011 Alarms went off at 5:45 a.m. Wow, is that early after being off all summer! Zach is not a morning person, can you tell?? Mason always has a smile on his face, no matter the time of day!
Morrow County Fair | Mason took a rabbit to the fair for FFA. This was his first year to take an animal. He picked up Rosey on August 1st. Mason got an old cage from Uncle Don and repaired it so it would be safe. | Rosey did not place in her class. On the day of the sale, Rosey brought in $150 for Mason and was bought by Judge Robert Hickson, Jr. | Mason was waiting for his judging class. | Chris Scherzer | Lindsey Gilmore
The boys bought Tom a Spongebob pinata for his birthday. They knew he would want to use it for target practice. And that is what we all did; even Grandma got in on the revolver action. As you can see, we all had a good time, even Maddie. | August 28, 2011
August 28, 2011 | The family that shoots together... | ...stays together.
O L I S | Tom, thank you for 27 special years. You are the only man that I have or will ever want to be with. You are strong, handsome, sexy -- the man who holds my heart. Thank you for giving me Mason and Zach and for sharing me with them. | To Donna, my best friend and love of my life: I have cherished our time together and look forward to sharing the rest of our life adventure together. You are an amazing person and I thank you for being a great wife and mother. | ur | ove | s | pecial | 9-15-2011
Some beautiful pictures of the sunset, looking out to the west from our house. God gives us such beauty to look at, if we will take the time to see it and appreciate it.
16 | Mason loves to eat at Steak 'N Shake. He and Zach can pack away the food!! | I hung his presents from the ceiling in his room. | It is hard to believe that Mason is 16 years old. The years have flown by too fast. | th | Happy | Birthday
October 28, 2011 The Kesslers stopped by to have lunch and visit with Grandma. They live in Indiana and don't get home that often. We had a really nice visit. Thanks for coming!
October 14, 2011 Pictures taken at the Harts.

 B L O O P E R S | Greatest Kids Ever!!!
 Mason Sam Zach
FALL BLAST The boys played minions in the drama production put on by our church at the Marion Fairgrounds. | Over 1,000 people came out to Fall Blast. They jumped on inflatables, collected candy and heard the gospel of Jesus. | Mason liked his spiked hair.
These were our beautiful roosters before we took half of them to be butchered.
Mason played the part of Peter Veder, a crazy old man. Ellie Perry played opposite of him as the crazy old lady. The two of them stole the stage and were hilarious. | The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Nov. 10, 11, 12 | Ellie | Mason | Ellie
15 years old and almost as tall as Tom. What a great kid!! | Zach's birthday meal was roast beef, mashed potatoes, noodles and gravy. | Grandma and pa came over to celebrate Zach's birthday and watch Mason in the play.
Tom wanted to grind our own grains to make feed for the chickens. So he brought out the old 50's Farmall tractor. It has a flywheel that you attach a belt to and run the grinder. When I first saw the tattered belt after he had used it, I was thankful that it did not rip apart and hurt him. He uses it to grind corn, soy beans and spelt.
-- Hard to believe it is harvest time again. -- I always forget how huge the grain cart is until someone stands beside a tire. -- I love riding in the cab with Tom. I get him all to myself to talk and be together, just the 2 of us, that does not happen often enough. | This year Tom ran cart and ran the chisel plow for both Anthony and Mike Bush. As I write this, on January 6, 2012, Tom is running the grain cart for Mike. They have about 400 acres left to harvest. This has been a very wet fall and winter.
 Before | AFTER
Happy Belated 16th Birthday Surprise, Mason!! I had worked it out with Paul and Keith to bring Mason over to their apartment in Columbus to have a weekend of gaming. They all had been waiting on a game to come out for almost a year. It did not come out until 11-11-11, and so we had to wait until the game came out to work our scheme. I knew Zach would love to go as well, so that is what we did. They had a great time. Thanks, Paul and Keith.
 91 | st | Grandma Martha turned 91 years old on November 23, 2011.
Thanksgiving at Elizabeth's is becoming a tradition. This was our 4th year at the Warschauer's. The food was delicious and being with family was even better than the food. Thanks, Elizabeth!! | 11-24-2011
Dr. Mary Toney, Rita, Mary Ann, Martha | Cara, Christi, Mary, Heather, Yvonne, Jessica, Angie | Melanie and Sharon | Beth and Kathy | Pat, Jennifer and Shannon | Rhonda, Jennifer, 2 I don't know, Charlotte, Pat, Shannon | Annual party at Mary's home for the women of the church. We eat food and have a snowman exchange.
Getting the lights on the tree this year was quite an ordeal. Mason started putting the lights on and then "Grouch" (me) came in and fired him for not putting them on right. Half the lights did not work, so I ran out. Tom bought LED lights, which look very different from the old lights. The tree looks a little funny this year, but Christmas was great and the lights really did not matter.
 Merry Christmas | 2011
Zach's 2nd Piano Recital On December 17th at 2:00 p.m. | Zach played The First Noel and got many compliments on his playing.
Christmas Eve at Kathy & Randy's | Dinner began at 5p.m.We ate food, opened presents and visited. The party broke up around 9:30, in time for everyone to be home & asleep before Santa would arrive.
Christmas Eve at our House We have a couple of traditions at our house on Christmas Eve. First, we always let the boys open one present before bed. Mason had asked for a Sony Handycam to get a jump start on his media career. He was thrilled when he opened it. Second, the boys always sleep in the family room by the tree. You never outgrow the magic of Christmas!!
Christmas Morning at Home Jesus, we always want to remember that Christmas started with You. Thank You for coming to this earth so we could choose salvation.
Christmas Day -- Lunch was at the Ice's in Warsaw at 1:00 p.m. We ate, visited, the kids played games and we took family photos before heading down to Mom and Dad's house for the rest of the day.
