On July 29, 2010, at 10:13 am, Ava Elizabeth Reeves came in to the world and changed our lives forever. Weighing in at a whopping 6 pounds and 11 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches long, Ava was the most beautiful baby the world had ever laid eyes on. And she was all ours.
The day of your birth came quickly. Mommy was very sick and on bed rest weeks before you came. You were born by c-section. So, Mommy was quite out of it right after you were born. | Your Daddy stepped up and was there with you every second after you were born. He changed your first diaper. Then, while Mommy was still in surgery, he showed you off to all the family that came to see your very first moments .
So many people came to visit you. Here are just a few. We weren't able to get everyone's picture. God has blessed you greatly with a family that loves you so very much!
Mommy and Daddy spent the next three days learning all we could about you. | Every move you made amazed us. You were a sweet and happy baby from the very start.
On the day we left the hospital, we had a pit stop to make. We drove from the Atrium Medical Center to Miami Valley Hospital. We had to visit your Grampa Jim. He was sick when you were born and was not able to come and see you. So, we took you to meet him!
The first few weeks you were home were full of feedings, diaper changes, and lots of cuddles. Your Mimi stayed with us most nights to help. You two became fast friends!

My dearest Ava, From the moment our eyes met, I knew that I was in for the ride of a lifetime. Looking into those dazzling, deep blue eyes, I knew my true purpose. Each day with you has been the best day of my life...and continues to be. Your daddy has always been into super heroes. Me, not so much. But I get it. Having you makes me want to wear a cape, sweep you up from any tough situation, and wrap you up in my arms. Safe. Forever. But I know life will bring you bumps, bruises, and broken hearts. And when Mommy cannot be there to sweep you up and save the day, look back at this book. Remember the magic and miracle of your life. And, know that there is a loving and all powerful God that made it all possible. Trust Him. He never fails. I pray you always remember that. And I also pray that you keep laughing, keep loving, and keep living a life full of joy! You light of my life and the lives of so many others. Shine on baby! Mommy loves you! Forever and a day, Mommy
