S: 2011-2012 Girls Basketball
BC: 18 Players 4 Crazy Seniors 2 Amazing Coaches 1 Unforgettable Season!
FC: Lady Bulldogs Basketball 2011-2012
In November of 2011 we embarked on a journey. Eighteen individual players on a journey to make history together as a family. 4 Seniors 2 Juniors 6 Sophomores 6 Freshmen
We dove right in to adventure, with two white creeper vans we were off and running to... | Maine! | Minus our 20+ confiscated nerf guns of course
First stop on the travel agenda: Adventure Summit | Captains chose to rock the hamster balls after an intense game of laser tag
We ventured out into the Maine Mall... everyone now knows why they don't allow us to be out in public very often... | "I never authorized them to use this picture of me!" -Gaucher
Tis' the season! We couldn't resist a team picture with Santa, but beware... | "Santa's a tickler!"
The seniors know how to treat a girl right on her birthday | Who doesn't love Build-a-Bear and silly string?
The next day, however, it was game time. The Bulldogs were out to show Maine just what they're made of!
Sadly it was time to leave Maine, but not without stopping at the beach!
After a potty break at the Holiday Inn where we so kindly observed someone's wedding reception, Steve the Huss Bus was back home, we had many great stories to tell, and it was time for our season to begin!
Our next challenge to tackle was the East Hampton Holiday Tournament. It was time for revenge, and we gave everything we had to bring home that trophy!
Throughout the season we clocked many hours not only in the gym but also in the hallway and Gaucher's office. Is it bad that we considered being in the office "being home?" There was always something for us to do besides homework like... | Play dress up | Sleep | Have intellectual captain meetings? | Eat | Decorate | Color | Be creepy | You think silly string will stick on the ceiling..?
With the season nearing its end and senior night quickly approaching we had some major work to do if we wanted to live up to our tie-making expectations. With a determination to make the greatest tie in the history of Lyman Girls Basketball we headed out to Michael's Crafts, Walmart, and our team's new favorite store for gifts... Build-a-Bear! But as always, us in public, oh what a sight! | Shopping List -Crazy Stickers -Star Wars Patch -Sound Maker | We lost mom for a minute... so naturally we try on funny hats!
Arts and Crafts Time! | Couldn't forget Coach Cast's headband!!
Senior Night | As emotional as it was, the night had to come eventually. It was senior night. This was hardly the end of our season, however, the reality of it being our last year finally started to hit us. On the plus side it was finally time for our fantastic tie's big debut! With our parents on our arms, we all walked out strong and smiling; inside wishing we would never have to leave such a close 'family' behind. We'll never forget our Gaucher-Senior talk in his office before the games that night, or his crying in the locker room during the last speech.
 Pre-game Festivities
We had won a senior night game for the first time in years! Yet another goal to check off our list for the year! Senior night and a win, calls for even more celebration... and pictures!
With the journey of our season coming to a close we had one more goal to meet, to win the first ever state tournament girl's basketball game in the history of Mr.Gaucher's coaching and possibly even in the history of the school! With a heart-stopping, intense, overtime, we managed to check off our final goal that night.
Captains | How we three managed to be trusted with such a title is still a mystery to us all! But we tried our best and at the very least, made the team laugh along the way!
Seniors: The oldest, the wisest, the most knowledgeable and mature... maybe.
Haley McCall | Haley was notorious for her picture taking skills, she always worked hard to perfect that 'distanced' look. | B e e t l e
Emily Peay | Payday | Emily will always be remembered for getting the first ever triple-double for Lyman Girl's Basketball
Alyson Tacchi | Tacchzilla | Alyson was most definitely known for her beautiful crayon-colored Star Wars pictures used to decorate the office.
Emily Von Edwins | Eddie | Emily was known for her multitude of injuries, while she played through everything from a torn thumb to an extremely sprained ankle, she always seemed to find a way to get hurt!
Coach | Every year of seniors has their own special memories of Gaucher, it's hard not to. The 4 of us, however, definitely had a special bond with him, maybe because we're all just as crazy and out-there as he is. It's hard to describe the "kid" we know as opposed to the "coach" seen by everyone else but we managed to capture some of the more clarifying moments on camera... | The one, The serious, The game face | Holding your keys coach? Really? | His idea | Just trying to take a nice picture... "What are we doing?!" | Let's take a normal picture now... yeah, ok. | Swag | It's only the other team's mascot, no big deal!
Candids | Only we would do a team "Tebow"
Remember when... | The bus seat offered words of wisdom? | We went to Chili's after a game? "Haley has a hot date on the couch with that corn later" "We cannot 'Up-the-Ante' tonight (margarita on the rocks)" -Gaucher | We proved two balls really can fit side by side in a hoop? | We had a pow-wow under the hoop during senior night? | You first saw your awesome tie?
The Things We'll Never Forget: | Drop-kicking the ball | "Life Lessons" | The surprise Practice-ology poster | Assburgers | Hour Long Elf | Naps on the couch | Silly string on the ceiling | Your voice cracking in Teri-Tiki-Goomba | Terri-Tiki-Goomba at St.B's | Your reactions when we tell you stories | Crazy Hats | "Love monkey does not fling poo!" | Flame Shoes | The endless analogies | F.I.S.T : Five Individuals Stuck Together | You crying on senior night | Your tie | The red chair tipping back | Subway smells | You walking in while we're watching Glee | Star Wars | See you at our outing in 5 years... we'll see if we're still the same | Tape game
