FC: Puritans and Indians
The Puritans were a religious group that came to America. They were one of the very first settlers. They left England because they couldn’t worship the way they wanted to. They came on a ship called the Mayflower.
When they got here they met some Native Americans. Their relationship was acceptable at first but it got worse and worse with time. The Native Americans were very upset because the Puritans kept taking more and more land from them. It was originally theirs but they decided to share with the Puritans.
Sharing is a wonderful thing. They taught the Puritans how to farm and hunt and many more things. They shared plenty of knowledge. And they later had the famous Thanksgiving Dinner while they were still getting along.
Everyone was happy until the Puritans continued to grow in population and took more and more land until they had to either kill or force out the Natives. They also were already having conflict because the Native Americans had different beliefs than the Puritans. This ruined the relationship between them. Don't be stingy or selfish like the Puritans.
