FC: Heroes By: Anthony Meier

My Definition of a Hero In my opinion a hero is a person who changes the way things are done or the lives of people. They are selfless, doing things for others without asking anything in return. Also heroes have the characteristic of being brave by doing what they believe is right even if everyone else is against them.

Beowulf Beowulf was a man among children when it came to war and fighting; he could do things others couldn’t even dream of. He was almost superhuman in his abilities; he was stronger, faster, and smarter than every other man around him. He saved countless lives with his heroic efforts and triumphs on the battlefield.

Patrick Willis Patrick Willis is my sports hero because he grew up in a broken home with an alcoholic and abusive father. He was born into extreme poverty and at a very young age had to take care of all his brothers and sisters. Through all his hardships he always found a positive in it, he would never let anything get him down and he always kept his dream of being a professional athlete whether it was baseball, basketball, or football.

Paul Gray Paul Gray was a great musician and helped create one of the most successful metal bands ever, Slipknot. He played bass guitar and considering he wrote most of the music that has helped me through my life, he is probably my biggest hero. Paul had an unfortunate death due to an overdose on medication wrongfully prescribed by his doctor. His music to some people is satanic but when you actually get past the literal meaning and look into what they are trying to say, he sent the strongest messages about being yourself and not conforming to what society wants us to be.

George S. Patton George Patton was a very important general in the second world war. He was a great leader and one if the masterminds behind the D-day invasion. Everyone who served under Patton went on to talk about how great of a leader he was. Being able to keep men's spirits up in a time like that takes a very special kind of person.

Alex Seropian Alex was the founder of a company called BUNGiE, a very popular video game design company based out of Chicago at first but now Washington. They have created such games as Halo, Myth, and Oni. Alex is a hero because he changed gaming forever with Halo; it was groundbreaking and record setting.

John Deere John was a great black smith and kept hearing farmers complain about how tough the soil was and how wooden plows didnt work. He is a hero because he revolutionized farming for all.

Dr. Randas Batista Dr. Batista has formulated a new way to treat heart failure that may end up saving thousands of lives and keep people off of the transplant waiting list. His controversial technique involves cutting away part of the heart and increasing its pumping power.

The Crow The Crow is a comic book hero. He lost his fiancee Shelly were in a car accident. Eric(The Crow) was shot in the head and watched street thugs beat and rape Shelly. After being brought back to life by a crow Eric seeks revenge by stalking and murdering every last one of the thugs. When he isn't out he sits around and mourns for Shelly.
