BC: About the Equipment Currently I use a Canon D50, a fully digital, SLR camera. I have used a digital SLR camera for over 15 years, I also use a variety of zoom lenses ranging from 10mm to 300mm. I most often use either a Canon 70-200mm f4, Canon 24-105mm or Canon EFS 10-22mm 1:3 5-4.5. I use Adobe Light Room 3 Software to organize my photographs as well as for post development workflow. Rarely, but on occasion I also use Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 as part of my workflow. About the Photographs I blend modern and classical photographic techniques. Digital capture is used and the "digital darkroom" is then used to recreate the power and feeling of the natural scene. Digital techniques are used to overcome the limitations of prints and to recapture the color, the sharpness and the interplay of tonalities that were present in the original scene. The only exception to this is any HDR Photographs. The final printing is commercially processed which utilizes the latest digital enlarger that produces powerful photographic prints that will, with proper care, last a lifetime. These photographs were taken without filters (except a polarizing filter). Outdoor scenes were shot using available light, without flash.

1: I hope these images move you. I find joy in the fact that photographs can move people in such a way that it can transport you in an instant to that place, have you feel the feeling, soak in the mood, and understand the statement that the photograph is making. Photography is my way of artistically expressing myself. I have been taking pictures since I was a teen and enjoy the hunt of a great view and the excitement of pursuing the Light. I was born in Seattle, Washington and I grew up in the Seattle, Puget Sound area. As a pre-teen I remember getting my first camera; it was a Kodak Hawkeye Instamatic II camera with the little square throw away flash cubes. Then in my teens my brother in-law gave me my first 35mm SLR camera. That opened the world of photography for me and really is what got me interested in it. I shot that for many years until the advent of the digital camera, which for me supercharged my photography hobby. I had a small point and shoot digital camera for a few years and then splurged on a Canon Rebel XT SLR. Which I shot for 4 or 5 years then I purchased my current camera a Canon 50D SLR. I am now dreaming of a full frame Canon 5D. I have no formal training at all in photography. I am solely self-taught; internet, books, seminars and good old trial & error.
