2: The United States has a federal system of government. That government is limited by a constitution that was adopted in 1787 | The Government has three branches of government (Executive, judicial, and legislative) | The two main political parties are the democrats and republicans. There are also smaller ones, such as the green party.
3: Three Branches of Government | The legislative branch is split into two houses. The two houses being the Senate and the House of Representatives. | The Judicial branch is split into different courts. The highest court is the supreme court. There is also the distinction between state and federal courts. | The Executive branch is headed by the president (currently Barack Obama). The president is assisted in running the executive branch by his cabinet.
4: History of Government | The reasons that the American government is federal dates back to before it was a country. The Americans were oppressed by their mother country, the British. Because of this oppression, they made their government a democracy. Since they felt that Parliament had too much power, the US divided the power to three branches of government.

7: Mexico has a federal government with limited power. The countries constitution was ratified in 1917 | Mexico has three branches of government with those being judicial, legislative and executive. | Mexico has many political parties such as the Citizens Movement party, the Labor Party, the National Action Party, and New Alliance Party.
8: Three Branches of Government | The legislative branch is split into two houses. Those houses are the Senate and Chamber of Deputies. Similar to the US, there are fewer people in the senate than in the Chamber of Deputies. | The judicial branch is split up into different levels of courts. The highest court is the supreme court and they go down to the Circuit and Unitary courts. | The executive branch is run by the president (currently Enrique Pena Nieto).
9: History of Government | Mexico gained it's independence from Spain in 1821. Similar to the United States, they were mistreated by a monarch which is a big reason they do not have a unitary government. They saw one person or body get too much power and abuse it and did not want that for their own country.

12: Ireland has a unitary system of government. The power of the Irish government is limited by the their constitution, which was ratified in 1937. | The government is split into the executive, legislative, and judicial branch. | There are a whole host of political parties that compete for power in Ireland. Some are the Socialist Party, the Labor Party, Green Party, the New Vision party, and Fine Gael party.
13: Three branches of government | The legislative branch is a parliament that has two houses. Those houses are the senate and the lower parliament. | The Irish judicial branch highest court is the Court of Final Appeal. It then goes down to the High Court then Court of Criminal appeal. | The executive branch has both a Prime Minister (Enda Kenny) and a President (Michael D. Higgins).
14: History of Government | Up until the early 1900s, Ireland was part of the United Kingdom. This has caused the Irish government to be near identical to that of the United Kingdom.

16: United Kingdom
17: The United Kingdom has a Unitarian government with limited power. The United Kingdom does not have a written constitution. | The UK has three branches of government ( executive legislative, and Judicial). | The current political party in power is the conservative party, led by David Cameron. Other Political parties are the Alliance party, party of Wales, the Labor Party, Scottish National Party, and the Sinn Fein Party.
18: Three Branches of Government | The Legislative Branch is Parliament. Parliament is made up of the House of Lords and the House of Commons. | The highest power in the judicial system, which has only been around since 2005. After the supreme court England and Wales have Court of appeals, Scotland has Court of Sessions, and Northern Ireland has Court of Appeals in Northern Ireland | The executive branch has a monarch and a Prime Minster. The Prime Minister has all of the power while the monarch is purely a figurehead.
19: History of the Government | The British government has always had a monarch. That monarch lost power in 1672 after the glorious revolution. Since then the Parliament has had all the power in the British Government,

22: The Chinese have a Unitarian government. The Chinese have a communist government with Limited power. Their constitution was adopted in 1982. | The Chinese have three branches of government with those being the legislative, executive, and judicial. | There is only one political party in China and it is the Chinese Communist Party.
23: Three Branches of Government | The Legislative Branch in one legislative body called the National People's Congress. | The top of the Judicial Branch is the Supreme Court which is called the Supreme People's Court. | The Chinese have both a Prime Minister (Li Keqiang) and a President (Xi Jinping)
24: History of Government | In the middle of the 20th century, China was undergoing a major change. In 1954, China became a communist state under Mao Zedong. Since then, China has made some adjustments, but they remain communist because of this change back in the 50s.
