About the Author | Nyles Britt is a freshman at Oxford High School. She enjoys shopping, watching movies, and playing volleyball. When it comes to writing, Nyles likes to write about her life, her family, and sports. Nyles finds the most challenging part of writing, is making sure that everything is ready, and making sure she is writing about things people like to read about. When Nyles gets older, she hopes to become a pediatrician, and own her own pediatric office. Her best advice for students entering the 9th grade next year would be to make sure that their main focus is on school, and grades, and to always follow all directions from your teachers.
Auburn University | I chose to attend Auburn University because the campus is very suitable for college students. Auburn has a very good medical academy and is also ranked one of the top colleges in the country.
Pediatrics Department | I would like to work in the pediatrics department because ever since I was a little kid, I have wanted to become a doctor, and i love kids. I want to be able to help kids grow and become healthy. I also think this would be a very good job because the amount of money you make is very good.
City overview | Now that I have Graduated, I plan to live in Birmingham, Alabama. I choose to live in this city because the hospital I would like to work at is located here. Birmingham is located in the Southeastern part of the state, and is the largest city in Alabama with a population of 242,820. Today, Birmingham's society is based on medical research, banking, and a service based economy. In Birmingham's bad parts of town, the crime rate (1 being lowest 10 being highest) is a 9.
Standard Living | When I graduate college and move to Birmingham, I am going to live at Bluffs of Riverview. My apartment rent per month will be $975. In order to move into my apartment i will need to pay a $50 security fee. Some features of this apartment are that it is furnished with a kitchen table, chairs, stove, and a refrigerator.
The apartment i chose came equipped with a stove, refrigerator, a kitchen table, and chairs. My parents gifted me a washer, dryer, and an entertainment center, along with $2,000 to furnish the rest of the apartment.
At this point in the project, I can afford a car. I have chosen a Toyota Prius as my form of transportation! The price of this car is $16,998. My monthly car payment will be $503.68 and the APR is 5%.
The total amount i spent on groceries this month is $132.70. I purchased items in the following categories: Dairy, Meat, Hygiene, Groceries, and Needs. I spent most of my money on the grocery category for snacks, and lunch. I believe this list will be sufficient for this month. While drafting this grocery list i learned that before you take money out to do things you want, you need to take money out for the things you need.
After paying all of my monthly bills i will have $179 left to spend on my entertainment. I set aside $70 for me to spend, and put $100 in savings for emergencies.
