2: Region/home: Our home is located in the country on the outskirts of the greater Sacramento area. We live in a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath two story home. It is the perfect starter home for a small family. Our yard is fairly big, so it has lots of room for play time. Our neighborhood is very diverse and has several different area parks to enjoy. It is also closely located to the school, youth center and fire station. Reason we are adopting: Two years into our marriage we found out that we both had infertility issues. After we got over the shock we prayed to the Lord for an answer and he placed adoption in our hearts. Finances: Our finances are very secure and stable due to Nick's occupation. The U.S. Air Force provides us with a steady paycheck, free housing and utilities, and also free health insurance. Pam is currently working part time as a weight loss consultant and also a full time nursing student. Her income is expendable and because of this it will allow her the opportunity to be a stay at home mom. Childcare Plans: Our plan is to have Pam stay at home full time for the first five years. After that she plans on going back to work during the day when our child is in school. Although Nick is on a full time schedule he only works 15 days out of the month, which allows for lots of family time. Thoughts about open adoption: We feel that open adoption is a gift that will bond two families together forever. We look forward to discussing the different levels of openness and planning for the future.
3: Dear Birthparent(s), We are so thankful and excited that you have taken the time to read our profile. We first want to express to you how grateful we are that you are considering us as parents for your precious little one. We cannot even being to imagine the difficulties you must be going through and realize that this is the hardest decision you will every have to make. There has not been a night that has passed during this process that we have not had you in our prayers. We know that God is keeping you safe and that he will be there to help you make the best plan for your child. We have opened our hearts completely to you in this letter and we hope after reading this it will provide you with some comfort for the future of your child. How we met:We are what most would call high school sweethearts. It all began during our senior year when Nick showed up at a party I was throwing and the rest was history. Eleven years later we both can remember that night as if it was yesterday. We both recall knowing instantly that this was something very special. After five years of dating we got engaged and nine months later we were husband and wife. Our wedding was truly a fairytale. It took place on a beautiful lake front property with our closest family and friends. It has now been 6 years since that day and we are more in love now than ever before. We are so excited to become parents and can't wait to share our love with another member of our family. About my wife: Pam is my best friend and my soul mate. Even after twelve years, every time I see her, I smile. She brings so many qualities to our marriage that help keep us going strong. She is kind, caring, confident, funny, smart and patient. The thing that I admire most about her is her positive attitude on life. She is like my personal ray of light in the dark. Some of her her hobbies and passions include: travel, music, hiking, biking and anything else that keeps her active. I am truly blessed to have her in my life and I know Pam will be a Pretty Awesome Mom.
4: About my husband: Nick is the most amazing person I know. I feel blessed that I get to be by his side everyday for the rest of our lives. He is kind, giving, respectful, loving, calm-natured, a great leader and teacher, smart and most of all funny. We have been together for almost twelve years now and he still keeps me laughing. He loves music, camping, fishing, hiking and traveling. Nick talks all the time about how excited he is for all the new experiences to come with our child and yes he is even excited about changing diapers! About our faith: Our faith is a very important part of our lives. We attend a wonderful Christian church in the Sacramento area. It is a medium size church with a fabulous pastor whose sermons always seem personally tailored to our lives. Our church also has a great musical worship. This is important for us because we feel more connected to the Lord through song. Since it is a bigger church it has a worship group for every age from infant to senior and also has a school. We look forward to teaching our child about God's great love for him/her. About our extended family: Most of our family lives back in our home state of Wisconsin. Both of our parents have been married for a long time. They also all work in the medical field. Nick has three brothers and Pam has two sisters and one brother. We also have one niece named Lily and one nephew named Preston. Even though we live a distance apart we are in constant contact via telephone, email and even Skype. We also try and go back to visit at least once a year. Both our families are very supportive and excited about our adoption plan. Thoughts on parenting: Parenting for us is one of the greatest blessings that the Lord can bestow upon a couple. Just like in our marriage, God will be a crucial member in our parenting team. We know as long as we put him first he will help us in raising a healthy, well rounded child. Nick and I are so eager and excited to share our love with a little one.We know that the days that lay ahead for you are going to be the hardest you will ever have to face. We hope that in some small way that this letter helps you in whatever path you choose. Know that God loves you and even in our darkest days he will be the light. Nick and Pam
