S: Our Canadian Train Trip

1: The Canadian Rocky Mountaineer Trip of a LIfetime June 12 to June 19, 2010 | Day One: Vancouver, B.C. The view from our luxurious adjoining hotel rooms at the Renaissance Hotel.

2: Day Two Our half-day private tour of Vancouver started with Stanley Park's totem poles and finished with the Olympic torch.

3: Queen Elizabeth Garden gave us some unexpected views...

4: A A nice break for lunch at the Granville Public Market and a nap or a bike ride comes next! Guess who took what...

5: A champion of a day!

6: Dinner on the water at Lift and daylight until 11:00 pm. How much fun can we pack into one Canadian day?

7: We walked home by way of the warf, enjoyed our view one last time and just couldn't keep our eyes open any more.

8: Day Three: Our trip on the famous Canadian Rocky Mountain Train has begun... All Aboard!

9: Cheers! Make yourself at home!

11: That wild caught native salmon never stood a chance...

12: Panoramic views of the beautiful countryside for over 590 miles!

13: Our train made its way past quaint churches and Avalanche Alley.

14: By the end of our first day on the train, we each found our own way to make ourselves feel perfectly comfortable.

15: Welcome to Kamloops An official two horse town.

16: Day Four: The views were so beautiful that we coud not keep ourselves from staring.

17: Well...most of the time..

20: Day Five: Banff's notoriously damp and cool weather kept our touring to a minimum. After many early wake up calls, we had lunch in an Irish pub, watched Hogan's Heroes and napped.

21: Day Six: We used our Travel Gypsy to guide us on back roads to Lake Louise and Lake Morain.

22: Talk about a view!

23: FInally, the weather in Banff cleared and we got to enjoy this view from our condo at the Inns of Banff.

24: Day Seven: A guided hike from Lake Louise to Consolation Lake gave us inspired vistas

25: and a healthy respect for grizzly bears!

26: "You can get a little closer to him," called out Bert from the safety of the car.

27: That same day we made the drive to Calgary just in time for a quick walking tour, room service dinner in our suite, Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie and an early wake up call to end our wonderful adventure. Our Canadian Trip of a Lifetime!
