1: West Rome fell in AD 476. Even though the eastern side survived it later became known as the Byzantine Empire. | Fall of Rome
2: Beowulf was a great epic hero that was a king of Sweden. He defeated a twelve foot giant named Grendel and therefore gained hero status. Later on (about forty years later) he went back and killed Grendel's Mother but this time with the help of a comrade. | Beowulf

4: Joan of Arc | Joan of Arc was a very insistent and courageous girl that was burned at the stake because of what she believed in. She made many mistakes but learned from everyone of them which shows maturity.
5: Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire | The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire was a very tragic event in which during work hours the factory caught on fire and trapped over 200 women. 146 of them died and and many more where injured.
6: WWI (World War One) was a tragic war. Trench warfare was invented to protect the soldiers from the new weapon technologies (tanks,Mach-ine Guns, submarines, poison gas, and cannons). | WWI
7: America Enters WWI | America entered WWI after the sinking of the Lusitania of which was carrying both passengers and weapons. Afterwards President Woodrow Wilson Proclaimed the US at war.
8: WWI Ended in November 11, 1911 at 11:00 (11/11/11). This day was whenceforth called Armistice Day. Now we know it as Veterans Day. | Armistice Day

10: Pearl Harbor was the event that brought the US into WWII. The bay, Pearl Harbor, was bombed by Japanese Planes and angered the president and he proclaimed the US at war. | Pearl Harbor

16: The Berlin Wall Comes Down | the Berlin Wall was the symbol of the Cold War. In 1989 Ronald Regan convinced Mikhail Gorbachev to tear it down which was a symbol of communism at the time.

18: 9/11 was a tragic terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Some Muslim extremists bombed the New York World Trade Center (Twin Towers) and the Pentagon. It killed 3000 innocent people. | 9/11
