S: Family Memories and Trips!

BC: The Best Christmas Eve Usually we have a nice family banquet during Christmas Eve. We just stay at home and enjoy each other. This year was really different though. This year we went to my Grammy’s house. We had a wonderful time. The smell of delicious mashed potatoes and pineapple ham makes me feel as though I was home. We had a blast doing Gingerbread house contests, and frosting cookies. With my aunts and uncle there it was really fun. Eating was the best part. We had the most delicious meal I could ever dream of. With Seasoned corn and casserole, it was so wonderful. At the end of the feast we all sat together and watched it’s a Wonderful Life. It was so cool. I will never forget that Christmas Eve.

FC: My Family Memories and trips

2: Our Trip to Glenwood Springs It was our first time out of town. Excited and anxious was the way I felt, kind of Scared of the mountains and boulders. Then, I was young and my fears got the best of me sometimes. After asking about eighteen million times we were finally there. Glenwood Springs was the exact place. My Grammy and my poppy were our authorities. They took us (My closest brother and I) for a fun weekend! The next morning we ate some sausage biscuits and were headed out for what was called The Hot Springs. Having all my swimming equipment I just thought it was an ordinary pool, but when we got there it was no ordinary pool. The Hot Springs was actually the longest pool I have ever seen. It was the coolest place ever. We had a blast! With the perfect temperature the pool was very cold evening out the warm sun. My brother and I were so excited and played the whole day. The next morning was a sad day. We said our goodbyes and headed back home. That great weekend made a memory for the rest of my life. And now the whole family comes for even better memories and an awesome family tradition.

3: The Butterfly Waterfall At age seven I was still in my imagination, pretending to be a mommy with my baby dolls, and a cat meowing on the kitchen floor. To be honest I didn’t care much about nature, until one trip that changed me forever. It was a hot summer day and we had ventured to Hanging Lake up in the mountains. My mom’s side of the family joined us so it was kind of like a family reunion. Looking up at the mountain we were going to hike, and listening to the word “fun” behind me was like hearing the word “exciting” to a tea party with a chimpanzee. I had the mind set of sitting behind and waiting till the rest of the family came down. But luck passed me on the highway, and my mom made me go on the hike. It wasn’t as bad as I thought and I was actually going pretty fast. We took a bunch of pictures and the flash gave me a head ache. When we were about half way there we stopped to look at the view. It scared the snot out of me. I was so high off the ground my head felt as though the world was spinning all around me. But I just kept going. The beating sun made me go insane and kind of a little grumpy. But when we finally got there everything changed. There at the end of the trail was not something beautiful or pretty, there was something gorgeous! There at that trail was the prettiest waterfall ever. The blue crystal water was accompanied by ice blue fish and fresh green lily pads. The wonderful scenery made my jaws drop. As I ran to the golden sandy area a beautiful butterfly caught my eye. I slowly crouched down, and let my finger take a touch to the wing. It was silky and pretty. All of the sudden when I got up it was sitting perfectly on my hand. With shock I was surprised it didn’t run away. It stayed on the whole time we were up there. I named it ZuZu and it was my butterfly. That day I ended up saying goodbye to ZuZu, but I got a lot of perspective of nature and how beautiful it really is.

4: To the Camping Trip We Go My mom wasn’t a fan. Camping was just not her thing. But with a few convincing words from the family, we convinced her. It wasn’t far from home but it still looked like fun. There was a big lake and wonderful view of the mountains. Our great weekend began with fishing. We went fishing, but had no luck and could not find any fish. Next we decided to go swimming. It was really cold but I got use to it and it was a lot of fun. Night fell and the family gathered around the fire pit. With the whole family there it really felt as though I was home. The smell of burnt wood and the delicious taste of smores filled my night, and made the best camping trip ever!

5: My Great Day The morning sun rose and it was a perfect day. My heart was thrilled and excited because I was getting baptized. The Lord led me to a better life, and for me, that was pretty dang exciting. My family and I headed to a lake nearby where my brother and I were to be baptized with some other people from our church. My Pastor was there and all the other people. We lined up in the lake and took turns getting baptized. It was amazing to see about twenty five different people believing in the Lord. Our times came and we were baptized. Even my dad was in the lake for our support. It was so amazing and I will never forget the feeling of being baptized.

6: The Best 4th of July Ever! The past 4th of Julys have been fun, eating hot dogs and popsicles, while watching the fireworks. But this year was a bit different. Normally it’s to the city park to spend our 4th of July. But this year we were going to the Colorado Rapid’s 4th of July soccer game. My dad’s side of the family joined us and I was pretty excited. It first began at my Nana’s house (my Grandma’s). We had a ton of tattoos and totally decked out on them. We were all set and had our game faces on! We all drove in two big cars and were already having a blast! When we got there I was amazed of all the people. It seemed as though all of Colorado was there. The game begun and it was off to a pretty good start. By half time we were beating them, and I was really excited. By the end of the game we had shut them out! The cannons were going off and we were all having a great time! All of the sudden, the announcer announced that our section, including others, were allowed to sit on the field during the fireworks show! It was so surprising and unbelievable. We sat on the field and watched the fireworks. They were beautiful. Right in the middle of the show one of the Rapids players Omar Cummings sat right by us. It was so cool. That was the best 4th of July with my family and of course Omar Cummings!

7: There were so many sea animals. From colorful fish to big fat sharks, they had everything. We started at the big fish tank. There were hundreds of them. Then we were on to the big sharks. Hammerheads, Great Whites, and Big sharks swam through the tank. They were so big and tough. They kind of scared me, just a little. After the sharks were the stingrays. They were so cool. The best part of that was we were able to feed the stingrays fish and pet them. They were so silky, and loved people. I won’t ever forget the Aquarium and how fun it was with my family. | The Aquarium This past year has been fun. There have been a lot of family trips, but one trip in particular is the Aquarium. We all had nothing to do on a regular Saturday. Looking at the newspaper my aunt had a wonderful idea. She saw the aquarium sign and we were off. When we got there it was a little crowded. I was so excited and so was everyone else. We took a step inside and it shocked us all.
