FC: Life in Winter
I took this while I was at my grandmother's. It rotated the image so the snow looks like it's attacking the tree. I added a lot of shadow to this, which is noticeable in the center of the tree. I think it brings out the brighter bark.
I've always really liked the clock in town, so I took a picture using the rule of thirds, and then played with the color of on the traffic lights. I like how the trees are dark against the nearly white sky. I also like the traffic light wires that run along the center of picture.
You can't really tell but what's left of that tree has been repeatedly attacked by woodpeckers, it's pretty neat. What I like most about this one the depth perception. I like how it's darker in the back, and lighter in the front.
This was in the woods across the street from me. I was completely amazed that I found a feather stuck in sap, and when this is in color is it so cool. When I used the HDR toning I cranked up the detail and show. I like how the bark looks in the right side of the photo, and how the sap stands out.
I would have to say that this is my favorite. I love the texture where the rough bark is, and then the striped away bit where the nails are placed. The shadow on this is pretty neat, especially behind the one nail.
Before editing this was a red branch, and the light was perfectly hitting it. I didn't have to mess with at all and it looked awesome. I love the cloudy darkness of the trees behind it, and how the center part of the branch is so black.
I call this one Snow Bark. It's kind of a plain name, but I still really like this picture. I like the light in the background, and the texture of the snow.
