S: China and Japan 2011
After landing in Haneda at around 10:15pm and dealing with JAL's luggage issues, we finally rested for a few hours at Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu. We checked out of the hotel before 5am, waited and caught the first 549am train from Haneda to Narita (2 hr ride, transfer at Shinagawa) to catch our flight to Guangzhou, China.

I could not recall the street of the dim sum place that my aunt recommended so I mentioned this street to the taxi driver and he suggested this "renowned" restaurant. The hostess said the main restaurant was full. It was either share a table or go to the next building's 4th floor emergency exit where tables were set up along the hallway. They did not serve dim sum and the menu was in Chinese so we ordered what I could recognize from the menu. Soda came in a banquet sized bottle. This neighborhood was where my mom and her family lived when she was young.
 Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall
After relaxing for a little while on a shaded bench at the park area of the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall where we enjoyed some cool breezes, we contemplated about what we wanted to do next. We decided to forgo the zoo and the sauna and instead head to Tee Mall in the Tianhe District to do some exploring.
We walked to Panfu Road. The waitress at the restaurant helped us with our order and we enjoyed our last dinner in Guangzhou. Floral display at the lobby of our hotel

We were starving by the time we stopped for lunch. The kimchi salad appetizer hit the spot. Robin's beef was tender and flavorful. My chicken karaage was typical, but a little too dry compared to the beef.
Shibuya - Checking out the various buildings: Marui City, Seibu, Tsutaya, Shibuya 109 - It was too bad that we were not in the mood for the snacks at the department store basements.
We left for Haneda airport at about 6pm via taxi to Ueno station and JR to Hamamatsucho station where we transferred to Tokyo Monorail. The appetizing ramen shop & sushi shop at the airport were full so we chose one that served tempura. We walked around, shopped for some last minute souvenirs and waited for our 1205am flight. Due to snow on the runway, we did not board until 4am. We were both relieved to be finally on the plane, but sad that our vacation was now over. Until next time!
