At the last minute, he decided not to go to London and gave the tickets to someone else. As he was walking back home, Annie and her friends beat Nick. And when they think they killed him, they throw him down a man hole.
6: This is Annie, the girl who killed Nick
7: Refusal of the Call When Nick wakes up, and goes to school, he can't communicate with the human world, because if he tries, the moment never actually happened. When he witnessed this, he thought it couldn't be true. So, he wouldn't accept that it was true. And went home, to find out the cops were there, and they were setting up a missing persons report. Seeing this, Nick gave up. Thought about his life up to this point and wished he could of taken back a lot of it.

But not being able to make contact with the physical world, it's almost impossible. So, when Annie felt very close to Nick, this was the only time he'd be able to reach out to her, and yells out her name, and she hears him.
16: Ordeal This is when the cops are doing a search for Nicks body, but find nothing. Then that's when Annie's boy friend reveils that he had moved the body down by the dam where the water would wash him away forever. Rushing, Annie went to go save him, but gets shot by her boy friend.
18: Reward as Annie is on the brink of death, she gets enough strenth to call the police and tells them where Nicks body is, and shut down the damn before it could over flood. There, they found Nicks body and sends him to the hospital. When Annie gets there, she whispers, "I'm sorry" and dies while with Nick.
20: The Road Back When Nick regains conciousness he decided to stay and do what his dad did before he died, and made up to his mother, who was just very happy to have Nick back. But, then his mother said that she'd let him grow up and do what he wanted to do.
22: Return With Elixir After Annie died, he knew how alone her brother would be without her, so, to be like a brother to him, he decided to hang out with him for every day from then on. And that's how the movie ends
