S: IBG, Inc. * 3rd annual "all things" Global Fundraiser
BC: IBG Inc. is an official registered 501[c] corporation organized in 2008, focusing on utilizing the power of philanthropy through the arts to benefit a wide range of microfunded charities worldwide. We function as a fundraising facilitator for selected charities by holding special events and auctions, as well as generating merchandise sales and promoting online giving. IBG provides the venue, the advertising and arranges for talent involvement for organizations that would otherwise struggle with the logistics and costs associated with event fundraising. Generous sponsorship to date has made it possible for 100% of the proceeds from our events to benefit the designated charities. Donors can be confident that their funds are getting to the people who need them the most. All events will solely benefit charity. Please join us in this endeavor. Thank You, IBG, Inc.
FC: Third Annual "all things" Global Fundraiser Benefiting | sa-yes.com
1: Dear Gillian, Throughout the month of April, fans celebrated your work on television and in films during this international fundraiser benefiting SA-YES. Fans gathered in cities, towns, and remotely via the Internet for a viewing party and other fundraising activities, such as games and raffles. More than $1,200 was raised during this year's events. Already looking forward to next year! IBG, Inc.
2: Melbourne | 5 step program to guarantee a successful Fanderson (or Fanderson 2011 Melbourne style) 1. Nominate a designated host: this year it was the lovely Ros' turn and she did not disappoint. After pimping her apartment out in recognition of the achievements of Gillian, it was time for the other fan to arrive. 2. Arrival time: always best not to get lost. Unfortunately Jess did manage to miss a turn and ended up a tad confused about where she was, but all was made good again and she made it in plenty of time. Colleen arrived in usual style, rushing from work. Wayne and Anne popped in after a cross city X-file collecting adventure (although no undiscovered treasures were discovered on this particular trip... or so they say!!) | 3.Let the shenanigans begin: what happens when you get a group of fans together? Discussions about the show, when then leads to comparisons of collections... we all bow down to the epicness that is Wayne's collection: worthy of an X-file museum (hey, there's a brilliant idea) | 4. The nights entertainment: what to watch? When you consider the plethora of choices Gillian has given her fans, it is a difficult decision to make. Since none of us had seen Boogie Woogie it was nominated a definite winner. We laughed, got confused, admired Gillian's comedy skills and laughed some more. After that it was onto some X-files episodes (once again a difficult decision, there is just too many to choose from).
3: Melbourne | How to judge if night was successful? If you experience any/all the following: - eating of junk food balanced our with carrot sticks and dip - sore stomach muscles from laughing too much with great friends -falling asleep in the wee hours of the morning where you have passed our after watching countless hours of awesome entertainment If any of this occurred then you have participated in yet another fantastic Fanderson, and you will also suffer from the desire for another event ASAP | 5. Up the craziness: yes what better way to end the night than skyping with other fans. Around midnight we made contact with the Brisbane girls and the night took a 180 turn from then onwards. Uncontrollable laughter, admiration for bootmugs and all things Gillian as well as an appreciation for yummy sweet things (cupcakes and cookies are our favourites) rounded the night off.
5: Brisbane Fanderson 2011 Any excuse we get to come together and celebrate charity and friendship, we take. We have supported IBG's Fanderson Events from Day One. This year, on a gloomy Saturday in March - we donned our pyjamas, ate cupcakes and macaroons and celebrated Gillian Anderson's work. We watched "Boogie Woogie", "Robbie the reindeer: Close Encounters of the Herd Kind", and as always, plenty of X-Files. We managed to have a lengthy Skype session with our fellow Australians in Melbourne who held their event on the same weekend. We always have such a great time at these events and look forward to future participation. Special thanks to Ella, our gracious host for the weekend, we appreciate you opening your home to us crazy bunch of say, Australians ; ) - Sandi (Attendees: Kelsey, Kylie, Anna, Ella, Nicole and Sandi)
6: Munich | All Things Marathon Munich
9: Cologne | All Things Marathon Cologne | We watched 16 episodes of X-Files
11: On Saturday, 16 April 2011, IBG hosted the Los Angeles event at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. Fans gathered mid-morning to begin a marathon of The X-Files Paley Panel from 1995, as well as two pre-selected episodes and a third episode chosen by group vote. By complete coincidence, the doctor that Dr. Bambi Berenbaum from the episode "War of the Coprophages" [s3e12] was based on happened to be in the building at the very same time, doing research in the Paley library!! | Los Angeles
12: In Chicago, fans gathered to watch season 1 episodes of The X-Files and play a few rounds of pub trivia. We raised over $300 for Off the Street Kids! Thanks to Challengers Comics for donating their gallery space and to Goose Island for the beer and pint glasses.
15: DARWIN "ALL THINGS FANDERSON" Fun 4 One | Once again the Darwin event was a small but successful one. I began by watching "all things" followed by "Playing By Heart", "The Mighty" and six of my favorite episodes of "The-X-Files" including "Triangle" "Chinga" and "Bad Blood" (my all time favorite episode) Enjoyed not havin to 'discuss' what to watch next ;) I love your work Ms Anderson and I can't wait to see the next amazing character you bring to life :) I hope I'll get to meet you before I lose the little sight i was born with. Thank you so much for being a truly inspirational shining star. Jodie Whalan, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia
16: May 1st - Cécile, Amandine, Cécilia and I (Agathe) spent a wonderful afternoon. We watched some movies and had nice talks all the afternoon and evening. Raising money for a great cause while sharing time with your closest friends is just perfect. Thanks again! | France
