S: The Strauss (and Fox) Family 2011 Hawaii Vacation
BC: The End!
FC: of our Hawaiian Vacation January 15-30, 2011
On our way to Maui! This is Noah's first flight; but Nathan is a seasoned traveler. The boys both traveled well as did we! | Now, let's enjoy the sun and sand!
We did some sightseeing, swimming and relaxing while we eagerly awaited the arrival of Grandma and Gramps.
Let the fun begin - Grandma and Gramps arrive on Maui!
 The Ka'anapali Sugar Cane Train
Here we are on a trip to the Maui Tropical Plantation to see where all the yummy Hawaiian fruits and vegetables come from. We rode on a tram around the plantation and enjoyed looking at the beautiful plants and mountainous backdrop.
This was our adventure on the "Road to Hana". It's famous for the winding, narrow roads and breathtaking scenery. It was a full day filled with beautiful sights and some interesting moments too. Gramdma was a trooper sitting in the back with Nathan and Gramps took care of our tired little baby, who just couldn't sleep!
Our next adventure was at sea! All aboard the Pacific Whale Foundation's whale watching excersion We saw lots of whales and learned lots too. Noah was too little to go on the boat so he stayed back with Daddy to catch up on some sleep, but they met us in Lahaina for lunch and sightseeing later in the day.
 Fun at the playground!
Nathan really enjoyed his Maui vacation. His favorite memories (besides spending lots of time with Granmda and Gramps) include swimming in the pirate ship pool, playing ping-pong, building sandcastles, feeding the koi fish and running around outside our patio in the lush green grass.
It was so much fun to spend time with Nathan on Maui. He loved to try new things, like swimming in the ocean and swimming in the big pool. We loved our family vacation and hope we can do it again next year!
Noah was only seven months old when we traveled to Maui, so this book will help him see how much fun we had once he is older. It was so nice to see Noah swim in the pool and put his feet in the ocean for the first time and sit on the lush green grass. It was really nice that he wasn't always bundled up in a car seat and was able to feel the fresh air on his face and feet (did he wear shoes even once?).
Noah had some extreme early mornings while on Maui thanks to that pesky four hour time change. Thank goodness for Daddy, who spent most mornings wandering the resort so Nathan and Mommy could sleep a little later. Too bad he won't have any memory of this vacation, but we certainly will. What a great first tropical vacation as a family of four!
