FC: Annelise LaChapelle | Photographs
1: Annelise LaChapelle I'm Annelise LaChapelle, born in Glens Falls and raised in South Glens Falls, NY. I have always felt the need to express my artistic side with photography. I use a camera like a paintbrush to capture the moments life presents to me. Gradually, I've learned to improve my technique and style to record a life memory or a point of view. I capture a variety of seasons from winter snow to summer landscapes. I change the angle of view with each photograph and then develop the film in a traditional darkroom and/or edit them in Photoshop. Black & white photography takes time to develop and understand the process. Digital is a little faster, but still takes a good amount of time to finish. It's like a baby learning to crawl. Can't be done with the snap of your fingers. Throughout school and life I have experienced horrible moments and always felt discouraged. I began capturing moments with a camera and realized life gives us a lot of memories, whether it is good or bad, which last an eternity. Perspective lasts an eternity, too, and plays a great part in my work. My artwork is “perspectively” taken, so you the viewer gets a sense of endless images. Life has an endless amount of memories and I love to capture the way life gives me never ending memories throughout my learning and living.
