8: Cinnamon Rolls 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt 2 pkg yeast 4-4 1/2 c flour 1 c milk 1/2 cup butter 1 egg In large bowl combine sugar, slat, yeast and 1 cup flour. Warm milk and butter till very warm. Beat at low speed and beat on medium for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and 1/2 cup flour. Beat 2 minutes more. Add remaining flour and then knead (see illustration by Bryson to left) for 10 minutes. Let rise about 1 hour until doubled. Punch down dough. Roll out to 12x18 inch rectangle. Spread generously with butter. Spread generously with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly from long end and cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces. Put into well greased 9x13 pan. Let rise in warm place about 45 minutes till almost doubled. Bake at 400 20-25 minutes until light brown. Spread with glaze of powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, a dash of salt and milk. 14: Sugar Cookies 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar * 1 c butter * 1 egg * 1 tsp vanilla * 1/2 tsp almond extract * 2 1/2 cups flour * 1 tsp baking soda * 1 tsp cream of tartar Granulated Sugar Mix together everything except granulated sugar. Divide in half, wrap and refrigerate 2 hours. Heat oven to 375. Roll into 3/16" on lightly floured counter. Cut into shapes. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until edges are light brown, 7-8 minutes. Please note the proper way to make sure there are no lumps in the powdered sugar demonstrated by Ayvaleigh Grace!
