S: Happy 50th Birthday Mom
FC: Ronna Marie Gunn Epperson Nabors | April 25, 2011
A mother is one who understands the things you say and do. Who always overlooks your faults and sees the best in you. A mother is one whose special love inspires day by day. Who fills your heart with gladness in her warm and thoughtful way. A mother is all these things and more - the greatest treasure known. And the dearest mother in all the world is the one I call my own.
Happy Birthday Grandma! Love Jonathan! | "I can see your house from here, and frankly, I don't like what I see!" -Marina
Happy Birthday Grandma! I love you, you are awesome, and have lots of adventures! Love, Moriah
Oh Sweet Darlin' I wish I was there! I have so many wonderful memories of me and you out on the town. We used to ROCK IT! She was sooo pretty and I was so insecure. Then one day we were sitting in the hot sun in New Orleans waiting at a bus stop and we were both quite hungover. Who knows what we were talking about but your mother said to me, "Judy, I don't think you realize how pretty you are!" Those words set in and have stayed with me forever. You were right! I didn't realize it until you said that. It really changed my life. I was able to accept the fact that I was pretty and I was able to see myself that way. It really really made an impact. I thank you all the time for that. Those were life changing words for me! Love, Judy
Thank you for the memories. I am proud to call you my friend and MOM. Love you, Vivan | I can remember from when I was a child, I recall all the rough patches you hit with addiction. You continue, to bless me by being a part of my life. You have come so far in this journey I call life. You are in inspiration to many, including me.
Whenever you come to visit, I never want you to leave. You are loved by so many people, and I am one of them! So here is to you Ronna, on your special day! On a personal note, I look forward to being with Shanna for years & years because she will look like you and you are hot!! LOVE YOU Parker | Ronna- I am so glad that I am a part of your birthday celebration. What can I say? I met you a little over a year ago, and you told me I better not fuck with your daughter or your family. Ever since that day, you & I have grown so close. You are one of the most "in tune" and down to earth people I have ever met in my entire life. You and I have had some really cool conversations about "this & that" and I love every moment of them.
I love you Grandma and I hope you do well in the future! 8: Ronna, I will always remember you as being part of our family. We had some sad time, but some very funny and happy times. Remember the day I fell with groceries in hand while exiting the store, and all of you laughed? How about the burn hole in the coach that I figured my mom would never stop talking about? And so wonderful were the days we'd pile all the kids in the car for our next venture. Guess seat belts weren't in yet, and I guess that was a good thing! Think of you often. Have a great party Love, Elaine

Shanna called and said, "Write down a memory you have of Mom for her Memory book that I am making for her 50th birthday." I thought this is a very good idea, but what am I going to write? I did nothing for a few days, all the while mulling about what I could write about. I could not formulate one single memory-it was like trying to dip out the ocean with a teacup, for God's sake! After 50 years, and known someone literally that length of time-literally since they have taken their first foray out of the hospital and into the big, broad world-makes choosing one single memory overwhelming, if not just darn right impossible. | My earliest memory is of staying at Grandmother's house while our mom was having you. I was absolutely delighted when the "new little baby" came home with a baby doll, layette and baby bottles complete with a small sterilizer, blue and pink plastic tongs and small blue and pink baby bottles with hard plastic nipples. Chewing the tips off of the plastic baby bottles was more fun than doll and other items, as well as the "new little baby" and I chewed and chewed until I got slapped and they got taken away from me. Oh well, no problem because I had a real baby doll to turn my attention to, anyway. And bless your heart-did I turn my attention to you-my eternal playmate! | As we got older, I remember all sorts of things that seemed like a good idea at the time-and not such a good idea when you were getting patched up and I was getting screamed at and beaten for it. There were the harmless things like 'cold monster' and 'doop-d-doo' and then then there were other things that got me in a world of hurt. Like the time mom & dad had company and I was going to fix your hair and ended up spraying a whole shit load of Aqua Net into your eyes.you screamed, I freaked because you were screaming and thought you were blind,as I was told by Mom as she screamed. Then, there was the time that I saw the remains of our old red wire birdcage sitting upside down outside in the backyard with no bottom.
I distinctly remember going into the house and climbing up and getting cheese crackers, grabbing you by the hand and going outside to play "birdie." You climbed into the cage to be the birdie and did not fit-perhaps because you were three years old-but I had a pocketful of cheese crackers and you were going to be the damn bird if I had to cram your ass into the cage, which I did as you screamed, "My ahhm- my ahmm" and I just kept on cramming until the blood flow stopped me. You had a single red wire stuck into your underarm right in the meaty part where the arm attaches. You screamed, I freaked because you were screaming and thought you were going to die because you had blood coming form someplace that I could not see, and because I was told Mom as she screamed. | I remember you singing opera and commanding that everyone sit and listen to it. I would argue, "That is not opera," and Mom would say, "Yes it is-shut up!" and I would think how retarded. I have watched you panic and kick your shoes into the air as you blidnly took off running, I have seen you cry over everything and laugh over more, and I have seen you grow from that weird little kid into the woman that you are today. not half bad, in fact, quite a human being! I am proud that you are my sister | So now, we have many more memories to make. How about it? Another few lifetimes? Hopefully, as sisters throughout it all. Happy 50th birthday. I love you and wish you love and light forever-all bright blessings upon your head. Mechelle - 5/6/11
I am proud of what you have been able to accomplish. You have beaten the odds more than once. I love you Ronna. | Love Phillip
Mom- I have too many memories to even begin listing in this book. So, I would like to tell you this.... You have taught me more about life than anyone ever could. You have shown me how being a mother | not only makes you proud, but can break your heart. You have taught me things about myself, I could learn from no other, and for that I will be forever grateful. You mean the world to me. I love you -Shanna-
I love you Aunt Ronna and I hope you have a great birthday! Love Matt
-Ronna- We are now going on 25 years of knowing each other!! One of my fond memories of spending time with you is when you took me & Shanna to Fair Park & the Science Place and you had your little white car. I have always thought of you as a special person even with all the hardships you have encountered!! You have always treated me like one of your own and I will always love you Momma Ronna! Love, Crackle A.K.A Amy
Ronna, from you I learned how to really get out there and enjoy life! You taught me how fun life could be, even without a man in my life. You taught me that I didn't have to have a man to be Happy... That indeed, just having a girlfriend could bring me joy and happiness that I had never known before. My life has been so much more blessed having had you as a close friend! I have always continued through the years, remembering all the Fun & Treasured memories we had together, nothing will ever take those memories | away from me! Now I feel blessed all over again, to have found you! This world is a better world having you in it. God knew what he was doing when he gave all of us YOU! I always felt like your family was my family. Thank you so much for giving that to me! Love all of Ya'll Christi
My wife, my angel. We were formally married March 9, 2003, but I have loved her since November 1991. Happy Birthday from -The man who talks loud-
When dawn is breaking and the sea is calm, there is a sense of longing in everybody's soul to know what is beyond our point of vision or our sense of smell. We fear what we cant change, and change what we should let be. -Shane-
I remember when I first met you., I thought you were really cool. I loved your honesty. At that time, I only thought of you as Matt's Aunt. The more I got to know you the quicker you became Aunt Ronna to me. As the years have gone by I have spent a lot of time with you and you have become more than Aunt Ronna, but a close friend whom I cherish and think the world of. Also, she gets my sick sense of humor! Happy Birthday Aunt Ronna -Love Debbie-!
Desiderata Go placidly among the noise and the haste, And remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy -Max Ehrmann
