FC: Father's Day 2011

mY | My Hero As I ponder the love that I see in his eyes, A Godly love, given without compromise... I recall many times that he stood by my side, And prodded me on with great vigor and pride. His voice ever confident, firm and yet fair, Always speaking with patience, tenderness and care. The power and might of his hands is so sure, I know there is nothing we couldn't endure. It's true, a few others provided insight, Yet, he laid the foundation that kept me upright. He's the grandest of men to have lived on this earth Although he's not royal by stature or birth. He's a man of great dignity, honor and strength. His merits are noble, and of admirable length. He's far greater than all other men that I know, He's my Dad, he's my mentor, my friend and hero.

The greatest gift I ever had Came from God; I call him Dad!

I love that, when I talk to you, you always say "Hey Sweetheart"" -Kim | Dad knows everything and he is just dripping with wisdom. -Hampton | Thanks Dad for giving me an exact example of the Dad and husband I want to be. -Harrison | Dad, you live your witness and you understand it's about people and relationships. -Irv

I loved family skiing trips in Wintergreen and Colorado; leave it to Swervin' Irvin to push the boundaries. "Let's play Lady & the Tramp one more time", "of course we don't need rental car insurance", "Is that Harrison being carried down the mountain in the sled?" -Irv

My scripture is 1 Chronicles 29:17 "I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity... Dad, you are a "man of integrity". | Thank you, Dad, for taking the time to say "I love you" and "I'm proud of you". And if I've never told you "I'm proud of you" and "I love you". -Kim | Kim

I am glad Swirve is my Dad...because no other Dad would make his children work in the stables after a guided trail ride. -Harrison

My favorite childhood memories seem to be around Christmas. I loved hiking out to find just the right Cedar tree. I loved the tinsel, the popcorn strings, and the nuclear powered gigantic colored lights that would burn the skin off your fingers if you touched them, the scratch and sniff books and the advent calendars with candy. - Irv | IRVIN Jr. | My scripture is Psalm 128

Dad helps me with anything I would like to do whether it is sports or not. He is always there to help and support me. -Hampton

My scripture is Galations 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the son of God who loved and gave himself for me." because that's exactly how Dad has tried to live his life everyday. | Thank you Dad for leading a life that only brings me closer to realizing the unwavering commitment to my faith in our heavenly Father even through the toughest of times. I love you Dad! -Harrison | Harrison

They say faith is like a rubber band. It is only useful when it is stretched. And you always stretched me or pushed me a little harder than I thought I could go - whether it was a test in school, a trip down the slopes, getting back on the pony that threw me or hiking up Mt. Mitchell. -Kim

Hampton | My scripture is 1 Corinthians 9:24 "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." because this is just like Dad. He is not going to do anything unless He goes full out - the best he can do. | I love Dad because he tries his hardest at everything. He is the best Dad anyone could ask for. -Hampton

I laugh to this day when I think about riding around Hedingham in your truck and casually mentioning that I joined the Navy; you're a real trooper Dad and I love you. -Irv

 High Hampton

I love Dad for winning the Master's and receiving applause at High Hampton for his green jacket. -Harrison

Dear Sir, I am so amazed by your commitment to God, family and children and I thank you so much for all of your children but especially my precious husband, Irv, Jr.. The discipline, love and tough but consistent parenting that you have done over the years are evidence of your hard work and love of the Lord. 21: You are the best Father in the world because you showed me the importance of a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. Not only by what you said, but more importantly by how you lived. -Kim

 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 | 1 Corinthians 13:13

Twenty five years ago I had no idea how blessed I was to marry you! I am so thankful that God brought you to be my friend, my husband, and the father of our children. You are a wonderful, kind husband and Dad, with a heart of pure gold! Thank you for twenty five great years and I hope we share many more! I love you so much! 29: The father of a righteous man has great joy; he who has a wise son delights in him. Proverbs 23:24

Dad, Thank you for: | The history lessons given on the way to Jersey Baptist Church. -Harrison | The shagging lessons that have helped me cut up the dance floor...but not as good as you. -Harrison | The work ethic instilled in me through watching you. -Harrison & Hampton | The legacy you will leave.
