S: A Man-made Calamity

This book was written for my English class. Our class had to write about the Geochemical cycles. This book is about the all of the geochemical cycles and the awful affects it has on animals around the world. It is something that can easily be prevented, but us humans', or at least some of us, don't take the time to realize the number of creatures we kill each day due to our daily usage of non-environmentally friendly things.
Global Warming By Erylynn Global Warming isn’t hard to explain It leaves Mother Earth crying with excruciating pain. This hurts our planet in every single way The changes could leave us all in sorrow and dismay. We need to stop it now so the temperature doesn’t rise People, plants, and animals would be in demise. Changes in temperature due to the depleting ozone layer We really don’t need it so show us that you care. Mother Nature can’t do it all so let’s give her a rest. We all need to try and do what is best. Our planet earth is precious and can’t be replaced We need to act now or our home will be erased.
Polar Bears One of the most endangered animals in the world due to global warming is the polar bear. This is just one species in particular. Scientists predict that by 2050, 2/3 of the polar bear population will die. The polar bears issue is the melting of ice. Ice is frozen water which is part of the water cycle. When it is melted, the water level rises and the ice decreases. Unfortunately, if we don't do something about this disaster, the polar bear species will be extinct.
Introduction Not only animals are being killed each day, but their habitat is also being killed due to global warming. It is a world-wide crisis that not everyone may be aware about. Some people believe it is not true, but in fact it is. Global warming is the heating of the earth due to the excessive gases like carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane being trapped in our atmosphere. Many animals and habitats aren't immune to the sudden change of weather so they die. One of the most valued things that is affected by global warming in our oceans. The ice from the north and south pole are melting, again due to the excessive heat. That not only depletes animals in those areas or in the ocean, but the places that are flooded by this preventable occurrence.
The Connection The connection between global warming and the water, carbon, and nitrogen cycles are significant. The nitrogen is significant because fossil fuels are used from fossils underground and are burned which cause the exhaust and the release of carbon dioxide and methane gas. The water cycle is significant obviously because water is being melted and evaporated from the oceans and it precipitates more, only with rain. The carbon cycle is significant because humans are putting carbon back in the air by burning fossil fuels. The cycles keep repeating themselves.
Fossil Fuels Lately, a lot of oil companies have been turning towards ethanol to try and decrease the usage of gas and oil. Gas and oil are still harmful to the environment but everyone can make a difference. It is the little things that matter. If it is riding a bike to work a couple days a week, to using gas spiked with ethanol. Ethanol is a type of gas that is made with corn and goes through many processes to make.
Persuasive&Descriptive Think as if you were a bulky and furry polar bear, swimming and gliding through the algid Arctic Ocean. You are as chipper as can be! Your other favorite thing to do besides go wading, is playing on the solid, freezing-cold iceberg and play tag with all of your friends. It is always fun because right when they go to tag you, they'll slide right by. Unfortunately, this cannot happen for the poor polar bears around the world. The population of the harmless little bears is decreasing. The blazing hot temperatures are melting the ice. This is due to the excessive burning of fossil fuels. There are many polar bears dying, drowning, and starving. It would be hard to be seperated from your family, alone with no food, no friends to talk with. Alone.
The Water Cycle By: Unknown The Water Cycle is Unpredictable You don’t know when they’ll strike The water cycle happens in levels It is kind of human like The first stage is Evaporation This is when water vapour comes up Then comes up onto a mountain Where the sun will sit up Condensation This is when the water vapour cools down This becomes a stratus or a nimbus crown Precipitation comes after that This is when water falls to the ground The rain falls down in a simple format
