BC: To Abigail Reyne With Love
FC: My First Year
1: Dear Abigail, When I first found out that I was pregnant, you became Daddy's little Easter surprise. Joy filled both our hearts knowing that you were growing inside of me. We both didn't know what to expect but were excited for the experience of it all. The day we heard your little heart beat and saw you on the monitor was the day we realized that this was all real. As months went by and I started getting bigger, every moment I felt you move brought a smile to my face and anticipation for who you were and what you were to become. The day finally came to meet who we now call our little princess.
2: At 3am on December 15th my water broke. Still a little surprised that you were on the way, we didn't head to the hospital until a couple hours later. Bibi and Emily waited and waited, but little Abigail didn't come for another 24 hours.

20: The moment you arrived and the doctor placed you on mommy's chest, we knew the nine months of waiting were worth it. Amazed and awe struck, we realized our family had just gotten bigger with you, our first little bundle of joy. Much to our 'new parent' surprise, our bundle of joy gave us endless nights of screaming as daddy walked the floors at all hours singing his 'Abigail Song' to calm you down. However, as the days went by, screams and cries slowly became laughs, giggles, smiles, and gah gah's. You started growing up before we new it. Sleeping through the night without the swing, reaching for your toys, sitting up, rolling over, and crawling all over the place. If you really enjoyed your food, a satisfied HMMMMM would follow after every bite. There wasn't a fruit or vegetable you wouldn't eat, much to the amazement of family and friends. Bananas were a particular favorite for you, as you could shove half of one into your mouth all at once! As winter became spring, we were anxious to get you outside. Your first real gulp of fresh air came during a walk at Myrtle Beach, during which you slept so well we thought you were drugged! Daddy loved to put you in the Moby and take you for walks in the woods. Mommy was always worried Daddy would poke one of your eyes out on a stick. Silly Mommy! We even took you on a Labor Day hike across the Mackinaw Bridge, you slept the whole way. Our lives were blessed and stretched daily as we watched your body grow and your personality take shape. We love you, and our prayer for you remains the same: That you will be a woman after God's own heart, just as David was, and that a love for Christ will be the defining reason for everything you do.
