In January of 2011 we were so excited to find out that we were pregnant with our first child. We could not keep our excitement to ourselves, so at only 3 weeks we shared our news with our family. The winter brought many snow days thankfully, since the first few months of pregnancy were rather difficult with horrible morning sicknes. My taste in food began to change, I didn't like chicken or any fast food, and even vegetables were not that great. It seemed that fruit and yogurt was all I ate. Eventually by 4 months I was back to eating normally, but I still loved my oranges! Despite some challenging days we knew in the end we would be holding a beautiful baby which kept our spirits high. | We're Pregnant!
Our First Ultrasound at 12 weeks | After a month and a half of throwing up almost daily (an several times throughout the day), it was so exciting to actually see you inside and moving! You were our little alien! | At this point we still didn't know whether you were a boy or a girl, but that didn't matter. We were thrilled to see that you w were healthy, and that everything was progressing as it should.
Our ultrasound tech was not allowed to tell us what gender you were, but she did show us a nice clear picture. When we got home we searched on the internet and from everything we could find we thought we were having a girl. | Our second Ultrasound 19 weeks May 18
The following week we had an appointment at the clinic to review the results of the ultrasound and for our monthly check up. The resident doctor told us you were "probably a girl". The best news of all though was that you were growing well and were showing signs of good health. Before leaving we heard you heartbeat, it finally went up to 160, having been between 140-145 at every previous checkup.
19 weeks Day of 2nd ultrasound | 18 weeks Taken on my birthday!
21 weeks Starting to really feel kicks! | 25 weeks It's June, report cards were due, job interviews happened, and our house was put up for sale...so I missed a few weeks..oops!
Setting Up Your New Home Part of our preparation to bring you home was to buy a new home with another bedroom or 2 for your future siblings! We sold the house we first owned together, and moved into our new family home. The next fun step was painting and decorating your nursery. After a lot of planning hard work, and help from your extended family we had a beautiful nursery ready for when you came home.
It was so much fun to decorate with pink! Hopefully you will love it for years to come! | Even Winston helped!
