S: CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: THE WUFIRS
Dear Andy and Melissa, Congratulations! We put this album together to remind you of adventures past, and suggest adventures future. We hope your life together is filled with love, laughter, and surprises (the good kind)! Which adventure will you choose?
Melissa and Andy, We can't wait to dance at your wedding! Sophia and Elaina Dancing with the Stars!
Dear Melissa and Andy, I hope that someday you have a chance to visit Ireland! It is an amazing and beautiful place and I know you would love the people, the culture, the music, and all of the great pubs and restaurants. From Galway, you can visit the scenic sites of the Cliffs of Moher (AKA the Cliffs of Insanity!), the Burren, and Connemara and also enjoy the local culture. Check out the pubs on Shop Street. The Quay’s – My FAVORITE pub in Galway!! Tis Coli – Small local pub, with incredible music! Galway’s local beer is called Galway Hooker – haha, how many times can you order that? My favorite restaurant is Riordan’s! They have the most AMAZING Bailey's cheesecake! Supermac’s is Ireland’s version of a McDonald’s, but the quality is waay better. It’s open until 3AM so if you are out late (and possibly drunk) and need a snack, definitely the place to go! If you ever decide to go to Ireland, let me know! I’ve got lots more recommendations for Dublin and other cities to visit -Jenny
Melissa and Andy: Celebrate all the many good times you'll have in your life together, and have fun in the sun - at the beach, Catalina, wherever. Life will be a ball! Much happiness to you both! The Boyts Ann, Jack, John and Brian
Andy and Melissa, Great to see you lucky in love! Here are some fun pictures from our past... - The Las Vegas Gang
Dear Melissa and Andy, Best wishes! Love, Po-po
Start with a trip to the southernmost bakery in the US (lilikoi malasdas are my favorite) Head to the black sand beach and take photos of your feet! Visit Volcanoes National Park and the lava tubes (they're dark), pretend you are Gollum crossing Mordor Take a hike and find waterfalls Visit Kamehameha, then stop for a drink (watch out, Andy might take yours) Cool off with a snorkel and a visit to the beach Enjoy the sunset Wishing the Wufirs lots of Happy Hawaiian Adventures! (filled with love, fruity cocktails, and walking off into the sunset) - Michelle and Ryan
Wish he could be here for one more white dress event...
Start with a flight into Shannon Airport in Ireland. Head to the town of Doolin, home of some of the best traditional Irish music sessions in the West of Ireland. Head to the Cliffs of Moher for spectacular ocean views and glimpses of the Aran Islands. Take a quick ferry ride to Inis Mor, the largest of the Aran Islands and home to an island that seems frozen in time. Take a horse drawn buggy to the top of the island to explore a Celtic fort, Dun Aengus, that was built somewhere around the 2nd century BC. Take care not to fall of the cliff face! | Be sure to visit lots of pubs and restaurants, soaking up the Irish hospitality and Guinness! Have a wonderful life together, filled with many adventures! Ryan
In Sept. 2010 we flew to Switzerland, then took a Viking river cruise up the Rhine. Lots of wonderful things to see and do! We ended up in Amsterdam, and did a walking tour of the city - museums, Anne Frank’s house, the Red Light District, etc. We then flew to Germany for a driving trip through Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland, including some of the best driving roads in the world and through beautiful mountain scenery! | Melissa and Andy, in our time together, we’ve had a lot of wonderful adventures, many memories, and look forward to those to come. Traveling adventures are great, but as you probably already know, it’s the small, day to day stuff that makes a marriage, and so we wish you much love and happiness as you move through, and live each and every day with a commitment to each other’s happiness. With our most sincere wishes for a wonderful life together- Bob and Lana McDonell
We have taken 3 trips to Costa Rica, and while this is an aggressive itinerary, we've done it this way all three times and wouldn't have it any other way! Feel free to mix it up or stay longer in some of the places that interest you! Stop off anywhere you get the urge and have a drink and a bite to eat. Look for the beer sign! Stop off at the hot springs at Hotel El Silencio del Campo near La Fortuna. The rooms are individual cabins. Tabacon Hot Springs are supposed to be amazing, but very expensive. We tried Baldi Hot Springs instead, which is like a Disneyland of hot springs with swim-up bars - hysterical and fun! We drove to Tilaron, around the volcano. You'll want to stop along the way for lunch. When you approach Tilaron, ask where to find the spectacular Viento Fresco Waterfalls. Just off the road to Monteverde and Santa Elena, the four falls are a fun way to take a break for a short hike. You can also try the Rio Celeste waterfall hike in the Tenorio Volcano National Park, a few hours north. It's much further north and the water is beautiful! Drive to Monte Verde along a very bumpy road. You can stay at the Swiss Hotel, where the owners used to be in a 70s rock band. And they've got the videos to prove it! Get up early in Monte Verde and do the Sky Trek zipline, the highest and longest in Costa Rica. Then head to Nosara, which is about a 4-5 hour drive where the scenery and climates totally change - really cool! We stayed at the Gilded Iguana in Mosara. It had super friendly staff, great food, and local live music on Tuesdays.
There are great beaches and sportfishing nearby at Garza Beach. Trey caught a 50lb grouper and a couple of jacks that he shared with the fishermen. He brought his catch back to the chef at the hotel and they prepared it for us with amazing dipping sauces - one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten. You should also try drinks/dinner from the Lagarta Lodge, and enjoy the great views! Next we went to Montezuma. Beware the coast drive, as it can flood. We stayed at the Ylang Ylang Resort, which was a secluded beach bungalow with lots of monkeys appearing out of nowhere. It's a 15 minute walk along the beach to town. The pool was spectacular, but it's all open air, so watch out for the humidity! We didn't actually go but to the south is Mal Pais and Santa Theresa, where Giselle and Tom Brady have a home. It's supposed to be gorgeous. Next we drove to Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, with a ferry from Paquera to Puntarenas. We stayed at Si Como No, with a beautiful view of the sunset. The next day we hiked through the rainforest and monkeys are just steps away. Incredible! The hike opens up to gorgeous beaches so you can cool off. If you have the time or inclination, you can try to make it all the way to Dominical for another night, but that will increase your drive back! We hope you have a fabulous trip and please write with questions! We've left our hearts in Costa Rica and we hope it leaves the same magical impression on you! Love, Jill and Trey

Here's wishing that you have a wonderful life together and that you will be able to experience some of the same great joys that we have had being a family. Best wishes to you in your life together. We'd like to share a couple of photos. The first one was taken while we were on a cruise to Alaska in 2003. Mom and Dad and Aunt Billie, Diane and Jeanie also were on the same cruise. The second photo was taken earlier this year 2011 at the Pantages Theater after "Rain" (Beatles Tribute Band/Play). Congratulations! Norm, Caren, Matt and Jeff Ong
Where else can you find new fab Tory Burch flats ($70), that lime green Kate Spade bag ($70; still on the web site when I got home), not to mention all those Caslon t-shirts and tank tops for $1.97? The sparkly pumps were a Christmas gift for Jessica, paid full price at Nordstroms. Two weeks later, $29. We must tell you that the new limit is 3 of one kind per day, so...that just means Andy has to go too so he can pay separately. All kidding aside, you are always welcome to stay with us and you know where really good green chile burritos are. | Melissa & Andy, Congratulations on your next great adventure: Marriage! You are not strangers to Phoenix, but we know that Melissa is appreciative of one of our greatest thrill seeking attractions, LAST CHANCE. | See you soon, Auntie Linda & Uncle Bobby (Tommy Bahama plaid cargo shorts/Nordstrom polo: total paid $15.)
The first photo is when the 4 of us were at Knott's Berry Farm in LA before heading to Connor's basketball tournament in San Diego. We love to go to amusement parks for the fun, adventure and laughs we get from them. Melissa and Andy, Make sure to always have the fun, adventure and laughs constantly in your marriage as well :). The second photo is at the Love Beatles Cirque Du Soleil performance as we were in Vegas celebrating our 20th. Randy and I LOVED this show, and we LOVE the Beatles. It brought great memories of the past and of the present of hearing and watching memories of the Beatles. Melissa and Andy, You will be writing your love story continuously...from Day 1 of the two of you being together through now and the future. We are so sorry we aren't able to attend the special wedding! You both will be in our hearts and minds. Congrats...we are so happy for you both, Melissa and Andy! Love, Allison and Randy
Spider Rock on the Navajo Reservation in Canyon de Chelly is a majestic landmark. The Navajo believe it is the place of their People’s birth. Steve’s parents ran Gracia’s trading post in Canyon de Chelly for two years, and Steve would frequently augment his college weekends by taking Friday and Monday off from classes to visit. The trading post is now a Holiday Inn! Go to the Canyon and take the jeep tour. When you are traveling within the walls of the Canyon, you just feel that everything is “pretty good---alright”, as Harry Billy, Navajo DJ, would say. Melissa and Andy --- All the Best to You! Love, Marilyn and Steve Weleck
Dear Melissa and Andy, Here's wishing you all the best in your wedding and your life together! You guys are great together and we couldn't be happier for you. We hope you enjoy every minute of living, travelling, and being together and that we all have plenty of opportunites to talk about our future adventures over drinks! Dana and Liz (The fuzzy photo of Andy in the blue t-shirt, the one where he's striking a pose in the little rock cave, and the one of him on the boat are all from a road trip he and Dana and another friend Chris took in 1995, just after high school graduation. The blue t-shirt picture was at the San Diego zoo; the rock photo in the background was at Moab; and the boat photo was in Bullhead City, AZ, where his older brother was living. The two pictures of him in the pool chair are from 1999, when some friends road tripped to San Diego and we stayed with Andy at his place there, during his senior year at UCSD.
Sausage and french bread strapped to your pack, Peruvian gut belt to keep all in check, Shoes full of glue duct-taped to their soles, Drinking cold coffee out of glass bowls, Still, all in all, adventure was had, Plusses trumped minuses, good times the bad, But if you should take, to the scene of the crime, Your blushing new bride, just stick to the wine. Chris
Checklist for a good time... anywhere your adventures may take you! - Put on your best duds - Have a few drinks - Bring your dancing shoes - Meet up with some good friends - Smile! Scott and Ling
Melissa, Andy, Isn't it obvious we would choose Japan? It's a big country, and there's so much to see, maybe we can all go visit one day! We know there's Tokyo and Kyoto, but some of our other favorite places are Osaka (often seen as a tier 2 city--don't be fooled!) and Naoshima (honeymooners and Berkeley-type tourists!) Tokyo: Favorite tonkatsu (deep fried pork!) in shinjuku, Mister Donaatsu shops, and okonomiyaki in Shimokitazawa. Mori art museum for aerial view of the city, and can't miss the gorgeous, gorgeous Prada store by Herzog and de Meuron (one of our favorite architects!) Osaka: Rent bikes (Andy!), go to the waterfront with some take out from the 7-11 and soak in the sunshine, wander through the covered pedestrian arcades. Naoshima: Take a ferry to the island, Chichu art museum -one of the most amazing buildings designed for showcasing specific art, but just the scenery of the ocean and surrounding islands is amazing. To a couple who is always up for anything, curious, undaunted, generous, and loving, may you see more together, share, and care for one another daily whether in your home or on an adventure. Love you both dearly, Grace and Chih
Congratulations on your marriage! You make a lovely couple. If you need an adventure, please come visit Malaysia where there are many culinary delights and islands with gorgeous beaches. You can drink as many coconuts as you'd like and see lots of monkeys. Melissa, you'll love the shoe stores in Kuala Lumpur. Andy, you'd enjoy watching the Tour de Langkawi cycling race. In addition, stay at the Datai which is my favorite place in Langkawi. May you have many blessed years together! Much love, Roxanne
Dear Melissa & Andy, After so many years of fun times together it is so exciting to share this special time with you! I wish you both all the best. Here are some of my favorite travel destinations in the Middle East, a trip I highly recommend. Check out the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and lots of great shopping in Dubai. Relax by the gorgeous beach in Beirut, check out the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, and stroll down Straight Street in Old Damascus. I hope you both enjoy lots of fun travel together! Love, Reena
If you ever happen to find yourself in Nina’s hometown of Cleveland: Start with a trip to Melt in Tremont for the best grilled cheese around. Spend an afternoon at the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Head out to the Shooters in the Flats for some good old fashioned night life. Drive out of the city to check out the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And don’t miss the baked goods at the Der Dutchman in Amish Country. Spend a day at Cedar Point and ride the Raptor and the Magnum. Check out the West Side Market and don’t miss the gyros at Steve’s. Pre-party at the bars on West 6th before you go to a Browns or an Indians game. Congratulations! Nina and Steve

The Central California coast is a vacation spot that we definitely recommend, particularly if you have never been there before. Follow the elephant seals - they know how to relax! The gardens and view at Hearst Castle are spectacular, and we highly recommend the twilight tour. You can also check out any of the several B&Bs in nearby Cayucos, and enjoy driving through the vineyards, tasting wine, and taking in the beautiful coastal roads and scenery. As life gets busier, be sure to make an effort to carve out time just for the two of you. We wish you all the love and happiness that we have experienced during our marriage. Love, Fred and Chinae
We were fast approaching college graduation and I needed to get all of my crap from my enormous apartment in Philadelphia back to California. I had asked around and no one wanted to drive a huge rig across the country with me in sweltering June, until I randomly mentioning it to Melissa in conversation. What do you know, she actually wanted to go with me. Better yet she presented herself as quite the pro listing a long collection of skill sets. I had found my dream partner. I remember we had a collection of mix tapes for the road. We were rolling. It only took us a few hundred miles to become pros. So what if the passenger had to roll down the window every time we wanted to change lanes because the passenger side mirror was broken? (and yes, that damn window was the old fashioned roll it down yourself kind) What is a truck driving partner for anyways? The first night required us to backup our rig. Not so smooth, but after a trip or two around the block and some re-starts we got it all figured out. | The trip highlight is an easy one: GRACELAND BABY!!! There we were with our automated headsets on touring the splendor of Elvis’ castle. Even had people weeping and wailing at his grave. Classic. Also, after leaving Graceland we were armed with some new tunes. Elvis for the next 1000 miles!! Other trip goodies included a catfish feast somewhere in the south, an afternoon in Santa Fe, and hitting the California border. By the time we made it to Arizona we were such pros at driving our rig we even spun it through a drive thru. Not even kidding. We were pretty much professional truckers by the time we made it to California. | It was a hilarious trip with a lot of happy memories. I learned good life rule: If you are driving across the country with someone, go with someone you have known since you were three. We would chat when we wanted to, but we were also happy to blast our music and chill out. And to make the entire trip come perfectly full circle, we pulled up behind my dad’s house in Pasadena and who comes randomly walking up, but Mr. and Mrs. Oceguera the people who brought us together as young kids. Hilarious. They were rather impressed when we were like “oh yeah we just drove this bad boy from Philadelphia.” Congratulations Melissa and Andy! Happy travels. With Love, Lauren | She touched my hand what a chill I got Her lips are like a volcano that's hot I'm proud to say she's my buttercup I'm in love I'm all shook up
Roger and I visited Vienna for the first time last week and fell in love with it – we would LOVE to return. So I’m attaching a photo of Vienna and a huge recommendation for a visit. Also, in all our years of traveling, another place that stands out in our memories as being amazingly special is the Tahitian island of Moorea - paradise on earth (or at least it was 30 years ago!). Cheers, Liz and Roger Blandford
Auntie Melissa and Uncle Andy, I know our time together has been short, but it's already been memorable. How could you forget my first long car trip home from Clearlake? I only screamed for about 3 of the 9 hour trip... You've been there right from the start and I know we'll have lots more fun together in the coming years! Love, Thomas
