 Hohensalzburg Fortress
 AT T ERSEE
 Gollinger Wasserfall and Hiking
 THE EAGLE'S NEST
 NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE
 HEIDELBERG CASTLE
FAVORITE MEMORIES Hiking to the Purtschellerhaus up the unending mountains. The first beer in Prague at the restaurant with the Michigan license plate. Riding the bus up the switchback road of the Eagle's Nest and taking the train down the Zugspitzer Driving in the dark, looking around for a "Zimmer Frei" sign and finding one at the mean landlords' place. How excited Kristen was to see the Cinderella castle, and then being almost too afraid to go on the bridge we hiked to to see it. The dinner of weinerschnitzel (flattened veal) at the restaurant with the dog sleeping on the floor. It was near the town of worms. Eating at the Kaiser Gasthoff and Kristen laughing when the truck sprayed water all over us and our food. Being stuck in an unending traffic jam and not being able to find a hotel anywhere until we found the Holiday Inn.
Having the beer at the picnic tables under the Charles bridge and at the Hofbrau Haus. The beer and the pretzels at the Chinese Garden. Watching the shining metal BMWs painted white. Kissing outside the BMW factory and hearing the workers hoot and cheer. Kristen stopping to touch every snail we found on our hike. Feeding the ducks with the extra bread at the pond. Drinking the delicious wine that we got for two or three euros at the Spar. Driving 100 mph on the Autobahn, cycling the BMW through its gears.
When we entered "no tolls" into the TomTom and we drove through the long way through the Czech countryside. When Kristen's flip-flop broke in Prague and we took a cab back for the last mile. Going up the huge brass elevator at the end of the stone tunnel in the Eagle's Nest. Getting out to the highest point of the Eagle's Nest right before the storm clouds surrounded us and blocked the view. Later, eating the stew and having the beer at the restaurant in Hitler's old meeting place. | Meeting each other in the baggage claim and having the best hug and kiss ever. Also, talking our way into the rental car we wanted and enjoying it in the parking lot. Climbing the tree together and sitting in the high branches. Later, walking back and watching the running cows and aggressive horses.
Taking pictures of the astronomical clock. Going into the cool basement crypts in the churches. Keeping Kristen out of the reaper light of the reaper in the first church. Going to all of the churches to pray. Getting some alone time with my Kristen. Hiking up to the hidden church, enjoying the view, scratching KMS's scalp after as we sat on the benches and looked over the town. | Finding the Hansel and Gretel silent forest with no brush or weeds. Peeing in it. Getting the TomTom set up for German driving. Climbing the stairs up to the watchtower in Prague and seeing the trumpeter.
When the doorknob came off in my hand in the hostel in Prague. Getting to the "business hotel" and turning right back around after the clerk was so utterly clueless and useless. How sick Kristen was in Nuremberg after we ate the cucumbers and how relieved I was after she got better. The perfect little town with the church we saw off the highway on the first day. Sitting on the balcony with the wine and cigars, talking and watching the storm roll over us and darken the mountains. The perfect breakfasts in the hotels and the bed and breakfasts. Kissing on the Charles bridge at night. The flight back home, setting times to meet with Kristen for her to come back to economy to meet me. Setting a time to meet and talking outside the lavatory.
